Yes, met him on several occasions my late father was a nascar official, and I was a Winston Cup girl in the 90's I met him numerous times in victory lane, and at the tracks.. Probably my best memory of him was when I actually got to sit down and talk with him and my dad in Daytona at the 500 in 1998, he autographed one of my die casts and signed the program, and had photos taken with the three of us..I will cherrish that photo forever.. He was really a nice man, yes he drove harder than anyone out there on the track.. I'm sure today he and my dad are up in Nascar Heaven talking about the good ole days of Nascar.. RIP Dale Sr, you were the greatest.

My uncle is a taxidermist(Sp?) and he said that Dale Earnhardt would come to his house at the early am hours and knock on his door wanting him to mount something for him. My uncles wife would get mad and cuss for him waking her up at night. He also went fishing and hunting with him several times.

I was at a sprint car race and some were making a fuss about him in the pit area. I had no clue who he really was. I was a teen girl and i was at the races because of my boyfriend. I talked to him and his wife who had two small kids at the time and I talked with them. I believe it was not Dale Jr. But his brother.
Dale Sr. asked if i liked the race. I told him it was very loud. And my seat rumbled so much i got a headache. he just laughed and offered to get me something for it. His wife gave me a Excedrin. lol
I feel like a dork now not knowing who he really was.
But maybe that is why we spent over a hour together because i did not freak out over them.

My ex wife did. She was working at a car dealership and he was there for an appearance...a Chevy Dealership oddly enough. I still have about 6 Earnhardt Sr. Autographs that she gave me, that he obviously gave to her.
She said he was very nice, very fun and funny, and enjoyed meeting him very much. A good guy. To bad he went down, but at least he did it doing what he loved.

Yes I got to me him after the Bristol race when this famous quote was coined I JUST MEANT TO RATTLE HIS CAGE A LITTLE. After the the interviews were over I was in a hospitality tentof GM as a GM employee myself we were invited in for a autograph session!! But the shame of it was he knew he had done wrong by wrecking Terry Labonte and he wasnt his usual self. He wouldnt look who he was talking to in the eye. His eyes kept shifting from side to side. He knew he was caught!! But he did sign a 1/24 scale diecast car for me. Some people were dumb enough to ask about the Rattle his cage incident and he wouldnt comment to them in the tent He knew he waswrong and had a lot of fans mad and booing at him earlier after the race.----- Non Earnhardt fans were doing the booing.

Yup. Had to deal with him several times during my years working @ The Glen. Sometimes pleasant, sometimes not. Depends what he was trying to get away with.
