In South Philadelphia, they don't call that stuff you pour on your pasta "Tomato Sauce"; they call it "Red Gravy."

What other colloquialisms (odd language that's specific to a region) do you know about?

One time I said I would go with a friend and asked him when he would like to go. He said, "After I empty the "wishing" machine."
I said, "What?"
He said, "After I empty the wishing machine." I looked quizzical. He said, "You know, the wishing machine, where I wish my clothes, downstairs."
It finally occured to me. "You mean washing machine."
"That's what I said, wishing machine."
He was from Johnstown, PA. They must really talk odd there!
