You just missed the mark in terms of fashion. No worries. Since turbans are ok, wear a turban.

It's not a hat, it's a turban. It's a religious symbol, and like others have said, as long as everyone is allowed to express their faith in a way that doesn't hinder their education or that of others, I think it's fine.

A uniform is a uniform. The boy with the turban is OUT of uniform. That shouldn't be allowed. If he belongs to a religion that requires it, he should attend a school that doesn't require a uniform. Period.

I think if other people are allowed to wear things that their religion requires of them it is ok to let this boy wear his turban, if they can't then it isn't! Has to be the same rule for everyone to be fair.

There are religious *requirements* in some religions about wearing certain things.

If the student is a Sikh, he is required to wear a turban.

Non-required religious apparel or artifacts are another matter entirely. If a school chooses to allow them, they must be allowed for all. (At least, in American public schools)

If they are allowed to wear a turban than you should be able to wear head wear also no matter if is none uniform day ore not.

Uniforms can and should be modified to respect a person's beliefs. I do think that not allowing caps is silly espcially on non-uniform days, but in the overall scope of things, it really isn't a major deal.

Slippery slope....

What about a Jewish buy could he wear one of those little cap things?
- I guess religion wins even though there is separation of church and state.
- Personally I think that if the dress code says no head gear then that means no head gear

i think that the school has to allow him to wear his turban becuase of the law. if they were to tell him to take it off they could get in trouble for religous descrimination. he can wear a trurban and and you guys cant wear hats because a truban is for religious means and a hat is just becuase you want to look cool today.

if you can wear a cross to school then he should be allowed to wear his turban, free country, if the school does not like religious symbols there then it should go for all religions.
