The best ice cream I have ever had was in Hay on Wye at Shepherds at Hay-on-Wye. They sell ice cream made of sheep's milk! I know, I know it sounds revolting - but there was such a wide choice of original and unusual flavors. Every one I tried was gorgeous... once I got past the mental block on the sheep milk! They even have the most amazing flavor -- bread! It's got a sort of yummy homely flavor made all the nicer by sitting on the grass in the "honesty" bookshop under the castle in the sunshine.
My fave ice cream flavor is Mint Choc Chip by the way. :)

I'm from Scarborough in Yorkshire we have a ice-cream bar on the sea front called the Harbour bar they really do make the best ice cream Ive ever tasted.

Haagan Daz, of course! Ben & Jerry's, and Godiva are good too!
A personal favorite of mine is Sara Lee's strawberry cheesecake! It's the only one that truly tastes like cheesecake!
I usually get Breyers, though. It's more affordable, and I like that it's all natural.
And who can resist Dairy Queen's soft serve? Mmmmmm...
But the very best ever? Homemade vanilla from Stohl's Amish Restaurant! My gosh, ice cream nirvana! I'm not kidding, I'd drive an hour to get it!

the absolute best is not really ice cream but more commonly called Italian ices. and it would be any flavor made by the Lemon Ice King of Corona, located in Jackson Hieghts in Queens, NY my favorite is the Rum Raisin and Pina Colada

When I was in Reykjavik, Iceland I got some sort of organic strawberry ice cream, it was delicious.
