Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
The thousand generations is the period of time from creation to the return of Christ on the last day.

Uncle Thesis; I would say that the meaning of the word generation is dependent upon the context of the verse in which God uses it. The bible is it's own dictionary, the principles of Noah Webster do not apply to God's word.

A generation is not a specific, precise time period.
It is the approximate time it takes for new-born babies to become adult.
Some would say 16 years.
Some would say 18 years.
Some would say 21 years.
Some would say 30 years.
What would you say?
