Do your brain cells affect your soul?

If I take an anti-depressant, will my soul still be depressed?

Can my soul affect other physical objects outside of my brain?

Your question reflects (sadly) the popular and erroneous idea of just what a soul is.
It is NOT some wispy, invisible thing inside us that escapes at death.
Based on Genesis 2:7, "... .the man came to be a living soul."
Please not the verb.
It is not TO HAVE. It is ....TO BE. We ARE a soul.
I am a soul. You are a soul.
Everything that goes to make-up you: your body, your brain, etc .....put it all together and presto! One soul.

The brain acts as the connector between the body and the soul. If it is not working correctly, your soul will not be able to probably express itself. The type of depression that can resolved with medicine is an issue with the body. But that issue can affect the soul. But there are also "depressions" of the soul which are not physical in nature, but rather mental or spiritual. Those have to be handled by changing your thinking, attitude, and relationship with God. So a "soul" depression would not be resolved with medicine. A physical one would.

Yes. As the soul is now being defined (in science) as being "in the brain," any chemical will affect it. No. The soul will not be depressed if you take medication. No. The soul cannot affect other physical objects outside of the brain.

Great question.

I honestly don't know. I know our soul is completely separate from the physical body. A soul is intact in a Down's body, for example.

Can our soul affect our cells? It seems likely, don't you think?

Good question. Are you happy with your soul's condition? If not, then the answer is no.
Decide what you think is right and wrong and stick to it. Happiness will fall in place.

Souls don't exist.

If they did you would take a spirit lifter instead of an antidepressant.
