In 1952 Moshe Dayan declared:

"Our task consists of preparing the Israeli army for the new war approaching in order to achieve our ultimate goal, the creation of an Israeli EMPIRE.

"Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburg says he knows in the near future the Land of Israel is about to expand. 'It is our duty to force all mankind to accept the seven Noahide laws, and if not – they will be killed.'"

Christians who do not give up believing in JESUS will be Put to Death.

Wow, never thought of it that way... But no. I'm hardly Jewish.

Most athiests are self proclaimed "Enlightened" people who choose to take the Universe for what it is, not what others want to believe it is. I live my life as I see fit to, taking bits and pieces of morality and such from all religions... including Buddhism and Taoism, as well as some of the heathen religions such as Old Norse traditions... It's more fun that way.

I'm sure my Jewish roommate will get a kick out of this one though...

Wow have you confused things.

First of all, you should go read the quote about the 'Opiate of the Masses'. The whole thing, not just the sentence. It's not at all what you think. It is one of the most understood and misused quotes in the history of the written word.

Second, while an there is no contradiction in an Orthodox (or any other kind of Jew) not believing in a god, there is no connection between atheists and 'enlightened' Jews.

Third, just because one out of many, many ancient books has a line in it, written by a man, taken out of context, says that Jews are god's chosen people, it doesn't remotely mean what you obviously think it means. If there is a god, and if it were to actually be cognizant of our tiny little lives, he would love us all. And all good Jews (and Christians and Muslims, etc) would acknowledge that.

And fourth, some of your statement might actually happen to be right quite by accident: The name 'Israel' actually means 'to struggle with god'. Devout, not fanatic orthodox, Jews know that that means that we should question everything; to live our lives like scientists. Questioning and learning is at the heart of our faith. This is why, even if you take out all the 'miracles' and, in fact, take 'god' out of Jews' overall picture, the faith still stands unchanged. This is the essence of the religion.

What BULLoney. I can't think of one way that we atheists are enlightened Jews. Jesus was an enlightened Jew. I don't feel that I'm guiding anyone anywhere. I have ratiionally decided for myself that all religions are made up by men and I no longer want to play that game. If the masses long to be addicted to their false gods, fine...just don't try to take me along for the ride and do not interfere with my life and my government.

No, a large percentage of atheists are ex-Christians.

Strange that a god who created all of humankind would not only choose a single race, but would wait several thousand years before his son would send his followers out to spread the good news.

Most Jews are still neck deep in the guano of religion. Just look at the fanaticism of their Israeli settlers.

Never was a Jew and think the whole concept of a creation deity being singular and that being 'perfect' is unrealistic

Not the secular progressives.
Today the "opiate of the masses" is government.

I'm from Wyoming. I didn't even meet a Jewish person until I was in my 20s. I don't think so...

What? This seems a bit like the question "Are round squares triangular?"

Interesting point. But the problem is that Atheists don't even believe in the Jewish god.
