It would be because too many people are letting them, that is, if it is really true. Progression toward, truth, beauty and goodness is the key to a successful civilization. Not stagnation, damnation, intolerance, foolheartiness, selfishness, uncooperatives, lazy citizenry and the like.

They have control, there is no leader without a follower and your are the follower. I don't know the exact reasons, but unless you contribute large sums to their cause, the could't care less about you, your family or your feelings.
