Yes, because with Timeshares there are rules and regulations. They have to adhere to them, atheists will probably own their own, so that no higher power can tell them when they can stay.

My in-laws (who are Christian) own timeshare in Hilton Head, SC. It has actually turned out to be the BEST thing for them. (And us, lol.) Every year, they wind up with extra weeks that they either aren't using, or have earned as a reward, and they give it to my husband and I to use. We can trade the week for any other week in any other place that we want. One year we went to Florida, one year New Orleans, and this year we went to Williamsburg, VA. (This is it here: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-photos/phfvi-marriotts-manor-club-at-fords-colony/) We're talking about going to Ireland next year. My husband and I (atheists) are actually considering buying a week of timeshare from the same company that my in-laws own at.
The key with timeshare, is it's great if you intend to USE it for vacations. If you're planning on buying one as a financial investment, it's a terrible investment. You also need to make sure you buy weeks that are desirable weeks, and buy from a good company. My husband's parents (who own Marriott) LOVE their timeshare. They've owned it for almost 30 years.

Atheists can't keep up with the payments.

It's a joke! I'm joking, joking.

I have never heard of one preferring timeshares over another.

Atheists know better. Christians are easily persuaded and don't think for themselves.
