I would venture to say it would be easier to talk to someone about God who's never believed than to someone who is already deceived by believing that their God is true when he is not. It is most difficult to teach or discuss with open possibility an already painted picture, rather than working with a blank canvas

I think believing in no God is the worst out of the two- because by believing in no God, you refuse to recognize all the miracles around you (such as how nature works so economically or even how animals and plants are such a miracle of creation). Because you are unable to recognize the wonders of the world, in essence, you take them for given.
However, if you believe in a false God, even if you are crediting the work towards someone else, at least you are grateful for all that God has created and at least you appreciate his efforts.

someone up ther mentioned about pascal's wager and yes believing in a god is the best way to go. if you believe that a god exists and die discovering that no god whatsoever exists then you're just going to regret being so foolish and if indeed no god exists then probably you won't need to worry about regretting because a nullified existence of god means no life after death. if you chose not to believe in a god and find out when you die that god does exist then you're damned for good- that is if you believe in the Christian tradition but i don't think believeing in a god is required in hinduism or the other isms. the question now is which god to believe?

Well, since the first commandment is "Thou shall have no other Gods before me", I would have to say that worshiping a false god would be worse.

Believing in a false God because you took all the time and energy trying to be obedient that you couldn't really enjoy life the way you could have.

faith is extra suitable than purely a blind style of optimism or concept. until eventually somebody stories the residing God- they have not any reason to have self assurance in Him. lifeless gods can't be experienced. they have not any voice, for one element: and believers pay attention the voice of their author God whilst they study the Bible. there is obviously a distinction between the outcomes of interpreting the Bible and lifeless works such because of the fact the e book of Mormon- one feels in a distinctive way; one is moved in a distinctive way. in addition, no different gods ever placed forth a alluring means of ethical code; or a manner that leads just to a very much improved existence- purely God did, whilst He created the Bible; all else falls short. subsequently if it falls short, there is not any reason to have any faith in it. purely as in empiricism. Why do empiricists say faith in empiricism is a sturdy element, yet faith in the different the two valid worldly worldwide view is undesirable? each and every thing of the worldwide, each and every philosophical equipment could ultimately charm to itself, otherwise refute itself as a optimal authority. to that end, all worldly philosophical structures proceed in circles to 'validate' themselves. they're to that end each and each of a similar. And yet, one person chooses materialism, and others do no longer... Why so? each and anyone has motives for his or her convictions... To reject the residing God based on the data for him would be irrational to assert the least.

Same thing.
That's why the first commandment addresses idolatry. It's the most basic of human sins.
No matter what people say, every body believes in something. If you don't make an effort at belief in a deity, then you are essentially putting your primary belief in humanity -- yourself/others -- or money or power or .... whatever. And this is believing a false god: idolatry.

Doesn't matter. Sin is sin to god. Stealing a pack f gum and murder are on the same level. They are both sin s they are both disgusting in his sight. To us they may be nowhere near on the same level but thats the fact of the matter.
