My girlfriend is a Polish citizen living in NYC on a work visa. We are travelling to Mexico on Tuesday for vacation. She is not sure of the required documentation for her to travel. She has a Polish passport. Anyone know what papers are needed? Thanks in advance.

I sincerely thank you for the travel info, but I am shocked that you all seem to dislike Mexico. I have been 5 times. I have also been to Bahamas, St John, Hawaii, Barbados, Bermuda, St Thomas, Jamaica, Dominican, Antigua, Puerto Rico, St Martin, Peter Island, Tortola and Virgin Gorda. Mexico is awesome! I am curious if you people have even been there or if you just read about the dangers and drug wars in Mexico City and the US boarder areas. Mexico needs and protects its tourism. I am going to Cabo San Lucas, for a second time. Trust me, you should all consider it. Do you know how many Hollywood stars have houses in Cabo? They would not be there if it were very dangerous. I wouldn't go to Dominican Republic again if it was free.

Any more info on travel documents would be helpful. The innoculation thing makes me nervous so I will look into. Gracias! (no I am not Mexican, I am Italian).

I'm sure that she does not need a visa, Mexicans dont need visa when they go to Poland. So there must be some kind of reciprocity in this way.

An up-to-date inoculation record, and her Polish passport with her American work visa should be all she needs to get into Mexico and return to the U.S. without difficulties.

And personally, I think you both need to be psychologically evaluated. Mexico is one of the most unstable countries in this hemisphere and they DO NOT LIKE gringos! The government is corrupt and inept in protecting tourists; the criminals run rampant and specifically target Americans as their victims; organized crime runs the country and the police are in the pockets of the drug-lords. You may be lucky and get back unscathed. You might NOT be lucky and at best end up in some Mexican jail. I won't get into the worst case scenario ...

There are a multitude of places in the U. S. that are magnificent to see and wonderful to visit. Why go to a cess-pit like Mexico? You would also be better off going to places like Puerto Rico or the Bahamas.

You need to check with the Mexican consulate. She probably needs a Mexican Visa to enter the country. Her US visa does not translate and is not accepted.
