I know; I read labels and try to avoid it for my family and friends. But I thing garbage like that just shouldn't be allowed.
I am all about free choice and such, but why should I jeopardize my family's health for some manufacturer's wealth?

I realize we all have choices, what concerns me is that many people don't even question why it is there or even realize it is there. Drinks are labeled as all natural and the second ingredient on the label is hfcs.
You really DONT have a choice if you don't understand your ingredients. I am fortunate that I do. I care about health as well.

It is the greed that makes me want to say ban this stuff, I want to say to these companies"We know you are greedy and don't care about us."

Awesome idea! I don't know how to go about getting a food additive bannded, but I'm sure it starts with a congressman or letters to the FDA or someone else who probably won't listen to you...but I am willing to do some homework and find out. I hate reading labels and finding that HFCS is in EVERYTHING!

if everything you consume has HFCS in it then "you" are consuming far too many processed food items. whole foods do not contain HFCS and this is what you should be consuming for optimum health and fitness. there is no HFCS in whole food protein sources, whole grains or fruits/vegetables.

the choice to eat processed food items is 100% yours...

Edit:

It is the responsibility of the individual to make healthy food choices not the governments. the information on how to eat healthy is out there and has been for decades. and with the Information Age and the Internet, not many people have an excuse about not "knowing" how to eat healthy most don't want to make the effort to learn how.

apparently the masses here in the US would rather spend their time watching mindless TV shows and sports vs learning how to keep or make themselves more healthy. it's pretty pathetic when people know more about the lives of celeberaties than they do about the foods that they consume on a regular basis.

Wow, I feel the same way. I try to make good choices to avoid eating things with HFCS in the first 5 ingredients but it is so hard to avoid. It is cheap for food manufacturers to use, but is bad for consumers to eat. It is in everything!!! I don't think that we can ban it because it is just to cheap to include....maybe some day though

I dont seem to find that ingredient in the foods I eat. You choose with your dollar, most healthy and whole foods would not contain those types of ingredients.

You have a choice not to eat or drink products that contain it. If we banned everything that was unhealthy, life would suck :P

amen sister! i can't say i neccessarily agree that they should all together ban it... i mean i'm opposed to sugar but when i want it i'm praising chocolate, so i don't think it should be obsolete, but it's in EVERYTHING! it's so hard to get around it!
