Xians have conflicting stories about why I'm headed to hell: Either I'm condemned because I haven't chosen to believe due to lack of evidence or I'm condemned because God hasn't chosen me to chose to believe.

In either case, if god created me, he new that my mind would want to see evidence of historical events, therefore he made me to have no way to believe.

Buddhists on the other hand have not tried to convert me, nor do they often try to legislate their morality in American society.

Buddhists don't believe in hell and they're cool people.

Why are Christians condeming me to hell? Do you have all day?

1. I'm not a Christian anymore
2. I've had pre-marital sex
3. I'm bisexual
4. I take my kids trick-or-treating (that special one was from my mother in law)
5. I ask too many questions
6. I have friends from other religions

But yeah, I could go on and on...

I'm sure there are some Buddhists who think I'm in danger of their Hell too, but they're a lot more polite about it and frankly come a bit closer to supporting it with a reasonable theory.

Christians inherited part of their religion from the middle east. It was originally a religion of violence that condoned Genocide. Christianity is also mixed with Paganism, though, which allows for a more peaceful influence. The doctrine of an eternal hell comes from the understanding that the OT God had a pretty bad temper and was more than willing to kill and torture people who disagreed with Him.

Buddhists are into enlightenment, not torture.

Buddhists believe in reincarnation - there is no hell.

This is like asking why Christians are not saying that atheists have bad karma and are going to be reincarnated as a dog or an insect.

have you actually read through any of the atheist/ theist debate in here? If so, just count the number of times christians condemn compared to the buddhists.

Buddhists? They don't have a heaven or hell - most of them don't even have a god!

Buddhists are about peace and love.

Because Christians can, and Buddhists are more into their own existence.
Buddhists are into their inner strength of their belief.
Christians want everybody to believe what they do.
