Had you been president on 9-11, exactly how would you have handled it? I really am interested in some intelligent answers here, not anti Bush ravings, but thought out, honest answers

One thing I would have done would be to secure the southern border, not just close the Canadian one like he did.

Foreigners (NON-Citizens) are still being taught how to fly planes. I would stop that action totally!

We should have told Musharrif that we would respect his border AFTER we hunt Bin Laden down, not before. It's too late now to do that since it would totally be war.

I mean c'mon. The southern border is STILL a joke, so is Homeland Security letting in 12-30 million illegals.

I would have found out where the terrorist were hiding, (country not exact location), I would have then contacted that government and given them 7 calendar days to find and turn them over to me or I would bomb one of their cities. And yes it would be nuclear bomb.

And here is why......

If as a citizen you know that your government is doing something wrong and is not hunting for terrorist, then you in effect are supporting terrorism. Terrorism is the most cowardly form of war. Simply nut up and declare war.

The citizen of a country control the country. If you don't think so then I refer you to 1776 when a lowly band of citizen told the most powerful country in the world where to put it. If a terrorist cell wants to wage war then let them have the balls to do so, and if a country knows there is terrorist in their country and they will have a city bombed what do you think they will do? What would you do?

Probably exactly the way Bush did. It's not like anyone was going to jump into a phone booth, change clothes and save the day. When things like that hit, you absorb the information as it comes in, try to make some quick decisions that don't screw everything up, and let the people whose job it is to respond to such events do their jobs.

I would have used all the intelligence information I could acquire and then went on a mission to track down the terrorist cell. Find out who was funding them, what country they were from, what group they were in, and who in the US was giving them shelter.
These terrorists are using US persons to hide their bad deeds. The money is coming from wealthy Arabs but they have connections to islam Americans who offer them jobs, places to live, and secrecy.

You have to go on the attack but you must get all the pieces to the puzzle first. Many times the actual persons who complete the terrorist acts are just puppets moving and dancing to a large tune (others in control). If they are caught they are replacable. It is the master minds that are harder to catch and more deadly. They do nothing but work out plans for attack and build up the coffers for their plan.

Once we found it was Bin Laden we should have followed him and tracked him until he was caught, dead or alive. We gave up and steered out attention to Iraq. This cost us the whole campaign to remove terrorist cells. We moved of one country to another without just cause. We left the heat of Bin Laden. Now he can plan an even bigger and more deadly attack on the US. He hates us and will do nothing until we are wiped out. He is rich and loved by most Arabs.

If Bin Laden is planning his next attack we can wipe us all out by poisoning our water supply in the US or by deadly bacteria strains. The only reason we have not had another attack is not because Bush has our military fighting in Iraq, it is because he is letting the dust settle and he is planning the BIG ONE, much bigger that 9-11. And I believe it is coming in 2012.
