I know I am opening myself up for a beating here, but I don't see why I should feel badly about my belief in God and Jesus.

Xavier, I don't have any kids and I have health insurance for them in case one day I do. Fathers killing kids? What? Jim Jones...who's that? witches and halloween? huh? I mean be specific, really. How does the average Christian like me hurt you?

it's not a theory to me, that is why i said others have called it 'my theory of God". I would like to say i am not like your older sister. i am very careful with my words and in fact don't care for others who give unsolicited advice at all whether it is religion related or not. anyway, our church is poor, we don't even have a building and rent out a school auditorium. we put all our $ into mission trips (to build homes, schools etc. not to be pushy with God). it does bother me to see so many people who feel hurt by my belief ,but I can't stop it so sorry to anyone it does.

sorry I keep adding stuff! i wanted to add that i think preaching hellfire and damnation to kids is wrong too, i do agree with that. i went to a baptist church as a child, then rejected God for about 10 years, then made my own decision as an adult. i am so glad that i no longer reject God due to how other PEOPLE made me view God.

You shouldn't feel bad about your belief in God and Jesus. You just can not expect everyone to agree with you and you can not force them to agree with you. Other than that what you believe hurts no one. My non belief in God and Jesus should not hurt you either.

Belief in gods is not any scientific theory at all. A scientific theory is an idea that is well-proven by years of testing by scientists, e.g. gravitation, relativity or evolution. There is no scientific or logical proof that any gods exist. Why do you not believe in Ahuramazda, Allah, Amon, Baal, Brahma, the Flying Spaghettie Monster, Odin, Yu Ti, Zeus, or other gods men have invented? Many people mindlessly utter that their god is real, but others are not. Well, your god is no better than any others I have studied. I reject them all. I do not know you, so I cannot say if you are like my oldest sister who does hurt people. I do hate to see anyone waste time and money on nonsense by going to church and making preachers rich.

Do you believe people who don't believe in God are damned? Because if you tell children that, it's really psychologically harmful. Hell some preacher out in Utah threatened a 14 year old with hell if she didn't marry a 19 year old man. The preacher is being charged with rape, for intimidating the girl into a sexual relationship she didn't want to get into.

Fathers who kill their "under the age of reason" kids so they go to heaven

Jim Jones...need i say more there? 600+ dead

witch hunts, genocide

oh this list goes on and on...hey, get the book

Holy Horrors by James A Haught

it's a nice INTRO to your question

If you were wrong, would you want to know about it? Would you want other people not to be inculcated in this false belief in the first place?

I don't care what you believe in but does this "theory" of yours involve any empirical evidence?

Jesus said we would be persecuted for following Him.

So don't worry about it if you can keep from it.

You win in the end.....:-)
