How hard is it to swap a three speed manual out of a 1966 Mustang and replace it with a 5 speed tremec. I know the bellhousings have the same bolt pattern and see A LOT of old Mustangs with this conversions.

The 302/ 5 speed conversion is very popular, and this will help you as most everything is the same.

The 300 six isn't a popular swap, but worth it for the power and visual impact : )

My 66 has a 300 with 3x2's and dynos over 400 hp !

The bell housing at the transmission side is different, unless you have a very early V-8 Mustang. So get a bell-housing with it, or one from the salvage yard.
Buy the clutch plate that matches the input shaft of the transmission and is the same size of the one on your fly wheel.
Go to a Mustang site and get the adapter mounts.
You may need to change over to a hydraulic clutch.
