I know they both techincally do the same thing, but the windows in our kitchen needs something else and I am not a fan of the top mini curtain.

Is this a double window?

Personally, I subscribe to the belief that you should only have one window treatment on each window.

I'm not a fan of mini curtains either. Have you checked on websites to see what those designers do in this situation? I've bought pleated shades from No Brainer Blinds and Budget Blinds is also a very good website.

As stated, you can if the blinds are wounted inside and the shade will be outside, but that's a lot on one window and you'll have to worry about cords tangling, etc.

If the window needs something more, try a cornice. You can get them made of wood or fabric - try Smith + Noble for some ideas. They are actually easy to make yourself if you are handy.

I wouldn't put another 'blind' over a 'blind'. I am not a fan of the top mini curtain either, so I would suggest you either REPLACE the one blind with the other, or put full curtains over the blind. Truly, if you don't like the white wood blinds to begin with, its worth your while to remove and replace altogether....you will end up liking the solution alot more...

Since they do the same thing, do one or the other, but both will wind up looking awkward. If the windows are not located over the sink but around the breakfast area, you can add a single drape on either side just for the sake of interest and to soften the area.

You *could*. If the wood blind is an inside mount, and the roman is an outside mount.
