Hi;
I've never asked a woman/girl a such question, but I think that this question is being done as a signal of attraction, I mean, if a boy ask you such question, means that he is attracted for you, he feels something for you, and this is the only way for him to tease/stir you and starting a discussion with him, and why not? concernig a dating. This is my thought as a man.

If you're single but you're attractive something is wrong with you or he's the lucky one..may be you'll get a date
No worries the guy is still interested to find out the mystery..
If you are committed the problem is there for the guy, if he likes you he'll try to attract you in his own way or give you some compliments, that you're a real pretty girl..

No he doesn't think that something is wrong with you. The truth is that he likes you. In asking that question, he's really saying that he hopes to maybe become your boyfriend. This usually happens when a man is dumb founded over an attractive woman, in shock of her beauty. It's really like saying "damn she is too pretty to not have a man, let me try". So when you here that question from a man, take it as a compliment and know that he's interested.

He is actually asking to compliment you.... he wants u 2 feel good about urself so he implies that someone like u would have a hard time keeping men off and thus wouldn't be single...
they don't think anything is wrong.... just want 2 make u feel good by saying someone like u is hardly ever single.
ur supposed to get this idea that he's saying "am i really this lucky! you dont have a boyfriend? I'd love to be the boyfriend!"

Women ask attractive men that same question. Give them an answer like "cause none of my relationships have worked out" or "Because I chose to be single"..

Its a compliment in most cases. It means why is someone so attractive still single.

I think they're simply probing her situation because they are interested in pursuing a dating relationship with such a woman. It's sort of like detective work or exploration for single guys who don't want to appear overly eager or obvious.

No, they just can't understand why some women don't leap into relationships with the first guy who offers to make himself available. I have the same problem, and to be honest, I get sick of hearing it, but it just doesn't make sense to some of them. You just have to tell them the only reason you're single is because you're too choosy.

yes, your very correct very bad way way for a guy to talk to lady, because it send off to the girl the vive he is weak in asking out, or the tone of his voice may sound repalsive to girl meaning she might she is uguly. A man is mostly weak and his no confidence in doing the coward thing were the girl doesnt have to know he has the hots for her if she is taken. A real man ask "So I was wondering are currently seeing any body?"
