What makes people ask such stupid questions on a religion board other than the fact they are trying to make religious people mad.

It's the biggest lie in the history of the world.
Powerful people in the government used old writings based on pagan myths, mixed it with a few facts (as far as certain people existing like Caesar, places existing like Bethlehem, etc..) changed some things around, omitted the parts that would make people question authority, and voila, the bible. A book (and religion) that keeps the masses quiet, complacent and eager to obey nonsense.

Christianity differs from other religions in many ways. For starters, it teaches that you are to love your enemies and pray for them instead of trying to destroy them. It also teaches the idea of grace -- there's nothing human beings can do to get rid of our sin, but Jesus Christ already paid the price for the sins of the world, so all you have to do is accept that free gift and follow Christ in order to be saved. But here's the distinction: Believing isn't enough. Professing your belief and living your life in accordance with God's will is what He requires of us to be members of His kingdom.
I find it interesting that you call Christianity a form of superstition. Did you know there is more documented proof of the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ than their is of the voyages of Christopher Columbus? Yet one is taught as truth and the other is looked upon as a fairy tale. Did you also know that writer C.S. Lewis set out on a journey to prove there was no God, and when he was finished he denounced his former belief and embraced Christ? Or that Charles Darwin, the father of the Theory of Evolution, also renounced his theories and embraced Christ? You won't hear that in schools either.
If you believe there is no God, you had better be right...and I encourage you to look at the proof before you decide. Google "Christian evidences" and you'll find out just how much proof there is that The Bible is an accurate account of history before and after the life of Christ.

While it took me decades to figure this out, religious leaders have been aware it for centuries. Thankfully, though... every now and then... some blabbermouth lets the cat out of the bag, and provides us with a key insight...
"Reason is the greatest enemy that faith has; it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but... more frequently than not... struggles against the divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God." ~ Martin Luther
"There is on earth among all dangers no more dangerous thing than a richly endowed and adroit reason, especially if she enters into spiritual matters which concern the soul and God. For it is more possible to teach an a** (donkey) to read than to blind such a reason and lead it right; for reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed." ~ Martin Luther
Religious 'shepherds' KNOW that their 'flock' (sheeple) are scientifically ignorant and incapable of critical thinking... because they've been PROGRAMMED to be ignorant. They KNOW that they are suspicious of 'scientific' sources , and find them to be intimidating and incomprehensible... because they've been CONDITIONED to distrust them. These puppet-masters KNOW that their flock (victims) will seek their 'knowledge' from 'trusted' sources... these very-same puppet-masters. When the sheeple hear things like 'scientists claim that humans and apes shared a common ancestor, in the distant past', they experience 'cognitive dissonance'... this information is in conflict with the 'truth' that they have believed for their whole lives. So... where do they go to resolve this cognitive dissonance?... Scientists?... NO! They go to their 'trusted' sources... the sources who KNOW that they have been taught WHAT to think... they have not been taught HOW to think. Sources who KNOW that they can lie, obfuscate, misrepresent with impunity... with absolutely NO RISK that their minions will seek out independent, peer-reviewed corroborating information.
There is an INDUSTRY (Christianity) whose BUSINESS it is to create whole generations of adults who are, at once, gullibile, irrational, willfully ignorant, self-deluded, intellectually dishonest, droolingly stupid and hypocritical... and willing to tithe 10% for the privledge of having their cognitive dissonance held in check through regular doses of holy and pious codswallop.
The mental conditioning and mind-control techniques that are used in Christianity are very sophisticated... they have been refining and perfecting them for about 1,700 years. As evidence that these techniques work, just consider the fact that 85%+ of the adult population of the USA is freakin' NUTS (delusional... typically a symptom of mental disorder).
They do their jobs very well indeed... as can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xKDKq_PPbk&mode=related&search

Your premise is incorrect... it may be popular, but its still challenged heavily by a large number of Hindu, Islamic and Buddhists.
You can see here its prevalence:
