I believe she is not only wrong, but dangerously so. This sort of thinking leads even moderate Christians to believe that moral values have a very different basis from reality. If your deeds do not matter, and if you take all your moral judgment from the Bible, then what will inspire you to do good deeds?

If heaven and hell, reward and punishment, are taken as the basis of ethics and morals, there is too much opening for manipulation and deceit. That's how extremists are made: convince them they are going to heaven for doing what an objective analysis would know in a second was wrong, and they may bomb an abortion clinic or a World Trade Center. They won't mind telling a lie "for your own good." They won't even mind imprisoning you and brainwashing you, just as they were themselves brainwashed. All in the name of their god.

Gods grace, it is true is the only thing that will save us. But when you speak of deeds, you must remember it is his grace, we are talking about and why would he give those who did not try to do as he instructed the same saving grace as those who did follow his word? If deeds did not count the Bible would not be full of what not to do. God will judge us upon our deeds then if he sees that we were trying to do the best we could he will then extend us his grace. However for those who think because they believe in him they can sin to their hearts content to then he will say I am not your master, go with he whom you choose to follow while on earth.

While it is true that salvation can only be achieved through the Grace of Jesus Christ, that Grace does not come without strings attached.

For instance, one must accept Jesus Christ as their savior. Even that act of believing is an act. There are other requirements, such as baptism. James taught clearly that "faith without works is dead" so we know that one cannot blithely ignore all that Christ taught about righteous living and still expect to get a free pass into heaven.

According to some religious writings; many of us are already chosen for salvation by predestination just as others are not. This seems really confusing as if everything is a program or a script. This may also eventually conclude that there really aren't any losers but just actors in a very long and large play. So much for our own free will.

She is right. We get saved only by the mercy and grace of God when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We need to believe who He is and what He is about, and do what He asks us to do...but the salvation is not for our deeds, we get saved only for what Jesus did.

Our deeds alone will not save us
But the acceptance of Jesus as our Saviour and to live as Christ like as possible and Love God with all our heart, soul and might so that in hopes God will deem us righteous enough to enter into heaven

She is right. Nothing you can do to gain salvation. God's Grace through faith.

As long as you are not talking about the biblical monster that is probably true.

I believe most souls cross over and religion has nothing to do with it. We are here for a purpose and many of the circumstances of our life was pre-destined by ourselves.

Our souls live many lives and we make a plan with our creator before we ever get here.

Ephesians 2:8,9-" For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not of works, so that no one can boast."
