Take it out of the freezer about 12 hours before you are going to eat it. It will thaw, and be very moist. It will look like it would be ok to eat.
But honestly, it will be discusting.
You could make a one-layer cake with similar decoration. You'll enjoy that much more.
Happy Anniversary!

Thaw it the the fridge if possible. I'd probably take it out today so it thaws well. You might even want to take it out of the fridge an hour or two before you intend to eat it so it won't be as cold.
Happy Anniversary!

If it was wrapped pretty well. It will taste just fine.
You can easily freeze any frosted cake. Bakers do it all the time.
Take it out of the freezer and out of the box and wrapping and under cake cover.
Leave at room temperature just an hour or two before cutting should be enough time for wedding cake top ( average size cake) to thaw.
You do not want it to dry out so keep under cake cover.
Champagne and wedding cake will be fabulous together.
Happy Anniversary !!!!

I don't know the size of the cake, but I say for a small cake (8in round), maybe 3-5 hrs is all it needs to thaw on a counter top.
Another suggestion is putting in the refrigerator Sat. night and allow it to thaw in the fridge overnight and then it should be ready to eat Sun. afternoon or eveing.

I did that with my cake and pulled it out after a month. It tasted NASTY! As far as thawing it, the best way is to let it thaw slowly on a counter or even in the refrigerator. I hope yours tastes better than mine....

Two days before but it in the fridge to defrost. The day of take the cake out of the fridge an hour or so right before you are about to serve the cake. I am a firm believer that cake should be served room temp. It probably won't taste as good but, it should be good. Even if it doesn't taste that good on a plate, it will probably taste better served on you.

it won't take to long to thaw - it will take a little longer if youare going to put it in the fridge - on the counter just a few hours - depending on how big it is -
as far as taste - it really depends - ours was wrapped really well, and it didn't taste to awful - not as good as we remember it tasting, but it was edible - we each had a small piece and tossed the rest - congrats on your 1st anniversary - enjoy the day

We took ours out like 2 hours before, it doesn't take much time at all. IF you want to thaw in your fridge just take it out the night before. WE just put ours on the counter while we went to dinner. It was perfectly fine. It's not about the taste and such anyway, just a tradition and fun.
