Oh, bullshit.
We can all see the questions and answers here, and it doesn't look anything like the little "Christians are oh so innocent" nonsense you're trying to pass off here.
And referring to atheism AND Christianity as "cults" doesn't earn you any points for honesty either.
I wouldn't refer to you as "idiot" or "stupid", but it's perfectly fair and accurate to note that you're a liar.

I don't know what Q&A's you have been reading, but it is not just the atheists that are rude when answering questions... and it's not all of them. Sometimes I can understand where the rude answers come from... when the asker or other answerers start to call the atheists names or tell us we are going to hell because of our beliefs, then sometimes it is hard for people to think before they post. That is the problem with the internet... you can say pretty much whatever you want without the worry of retaliation since it is anonymous.
Even when I get angered by some of the questions or comments, I try to keep my cool and respond in a logical fashion. Yes I will disagree with their points of view, but I do not resort to the name calling.
Part of the problem is also how "The believers responses are subtle and not nasty except for their beliefs they get from the Bible." When a non-believer poses a question asking for reasoning behind beliefs, quoting from the bible does not answer that question and it is quite aggravating. What ever happened with free thinking?

First of all Christianity is not a cult and second of all no one is perfect, and every one has a bad day. I have heard from some atheist that have been cool with me and I am a Christian.I figure God made all of us and non of us are any better than the other. We shouldn't put each other down cuz of our beliefs. Are we going to disagree on somethings, of course but your rite there is no reason to give rude comments, and be nasty. Christians I am sure have probably given some nasty comments and it shouldn't be, we Christians are suppose to set an example but we all fall short of the glory of God,God knows are hearts Christians or not. And as a Christian myself I have to ask for forgiveness every day.

Most are just troubled people like the rest of us. We all deal with pain in different ways, which is tuff since there is so many types of pain, and anguish, and torment. Some called out in a time of need only to be left with the silence of themselves and the list could go on, and on, and on. At those moments they are left with so much hurt they don't see it was something that they could carry themselves. Faith can be the hardest thing to learn or it can be as simple as existing. Many feel left behind by God and so denounce his name and ways.
Those are usually the testy ones with the chip on their shoulder. Maybe some just have no faith in man and so show outward regret in the form of insults and slurs. But at the heart of it all most are good people with more pain inside them than they know what to do with. To hide behind insults is easy, to be devout in the face of man well that requires a stronger sense of ones' self. In the end no one person is perfect and we all stand to learn something useful from each other. Sometime it starts with insults but can always end with results if we try. Thanks for letting me have my two pence worth and good will to all. Where is this cult you speak of?

Calling someone an idiot, who believes that little white kids played with dinosaurs 3 or 4 thousand years ago, is not nasty.
It is an accurate description.

I wonder if they all do that, or perhaps the ones who do are the more noticable? I suspect that a great many of those here who claim to be "atheists" are merely disgruntled teenagers who want to shock people, and thereby attract attention.
Of course, the people who talk about God have their representative number of abusive sorts as well.
It may be that, since both sides are absolutely convinced that they have the absolute truth, and that truth cannot be verified, they feel called upon to defend their positions with vehemence.

I'm an atheist and I don't feel that my answers are nasty. Sometimes they may seem that way if you take offense to what I say though. For instance, when I say that your god is simply human fiction, you may feel that I am attacking you or being rude. I'm not. I am simply stating my honest views.

Christians are not nasty? Um... yes they are. I used to be a Christian for a LONG time and I do not like the attitude of most (both now and back then). They are cruel to many not like them (gay people, people of a different religion).
Atheists are not mean, they're just frustrated at the lack of logic that Christians have. They don't listen to reason.

Don't forget delusional, brainwashed, mentally ill, illogical, etc.
But you should mention that not all Atheists are disrespectful like that. Many are very friendly.
EDIT: ROFL at Chuck Biscuit right above me. She gets so mad that someone would have the nerve to call Atheists like her nasty....then closes with "Go stab yourself in the eye with a steak knife!" (No, THAT'S not nasty!)

I agree. Some folks seem to think there is a war being waged here at R&S, and the attackers are almost always in the atheist camp from what I've seen over the past year or so I've been hanging out here.

Atheists are nasty?!?!?! Abortion clinics get bombed, 911, taxes are jacked up to pay for altruistic welfare programs inspired by religion and this is the conclusion you've arrived at? Go stab yourself in the eye with a steak knife.
k716- It was supposed to be a joke, but considering all of the calamity religion has given us it would be great if religious people would kill themselves. I would help pay for the burial.
