I came to the above in my own way, not through the church. So I'm a regular guy but with deep religious vision. Seems to me that it's all more simple than the other folks would have me believe. Makes me feel a bit of an outsider at times, I'm on the threshold of the world and the church. Are you?

Church is not a building but two or more people coming together to praise and worship - however you chose to do this within the guidelines of the word. God loves people like you who do not get polluted by the poison of religion. Seek relationship and empower others to do the same. Jesus came to sus out why man are not doing the Godly thing. As He lived He learned and He was given the power to make whatever decision He saw fit because His Father gave Him the right. He has made it so simple for us as when on the cross he declared to the theif, 'Your faith has made you whole' The theif believed in Him and it's as simple as that folks. Just believe in Him and do not put your faith or your confidence in religion. Religion was there is Jesus' time and it is religion that had him put to death. Keep going, your purpose will be revealed as religion does not have the answer.

If you are "on the threshold of the world and the church", I believe that you are in a precarious place. Do you realize that we are the church. It isn't about a building or a small group of people. It is the body of Christ.
I believe that anyone can come to know Christ through the Holy Spirit, and not through an altar call or at church. I was called by Him, on my porch one Sunday morning.

Not having a lot of religion isn't a bad thing. Not having relationship knowledge of your Savior is. I do understand not being accepted by congregations, and have come to realize that I am not there for them, or me for that matter. I am there to worship God, and stand in the presence of the LORD. It is all about Him.

I am, was, and always shall be a spiritual Christian. Churches only get between God and I. I like to be with other believers but only if they do not try to push their belief system down my throat. I am totally content with the way my relationship with our creator is, and while there is always room for improvement, I try to make myself content in whatever state I'm in.Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

I left Christianity to convert to Judaism, likewise through my own initiative and not through someone else's persuasion. It makes me different in some ways, but luckier than many in others, both Jewish AND Christian. I have thought my beliefs through more than most people of either religion that I know. I'm not knocking them, by the way; just stating what I've observed over the ten+ years since I converted.

I have always said that the worst place to get food is a grocery store, and the worst place to learn religion is a church.

Once you get away from some churches, you are able to think outside their box, and you can learn so much more.

And it appears you are learning the "simplicity that is found in Christ."

Keep it up.

"Church" is a great place for fellowship with other faithful, a wonderful place to worship together, and a very good place to study the Word of God. Church is great for helping grow the young spirit.

So without the church how would you ever know what Jesus is? Or who God is? I know you are gonna say the bible...but Where did that bible come from? Who was the first to publish it? Why was it published? Who spread the bible out of the middle east?

Jesus, others, you.give up the worldly goods like what Jesus said "It is much easier for a camel to get though a eye of needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of God!" that man said' that means to give up everything that my earthly father worked for all his life to enter the gates ?"
