My 2 year old's birthday was last week. We got him an inexpensive train track and a Thomas Battery powered engine. It was $21, but it tugs the train around like a champ. It was a huge hit!
Make sure the train track has solid pieces that look like puzzle pieces. Some snap-together tracks are connected using little ball tips that are glued in. These come out and can be chokers.

I don't see why not. I have two boys that grew up normal with a toy kitchen present in the home. They enjoyed themselves very much. There was also an ironing board and toy iron present. Today they both can cook and iron and are manly in every way.

Congratulations! My baby boy will be 2 in a couple of weeks. We've been looking at some barn yard animal toys to help him with his sounds, colors, and animals. I also got him some books with pictures and numbers to read to him. I've also seen those puzzles with animals, letters, or numbers that I think I'm going to get him. Anything fun and educational is very beneficial to them. Good luck!

My 2 year old boy loves Richard Scarrys Biggest World Book Ever, and his Play-doh waffle iron - he also loves waffles. He also likes us to push him around in a big tonka dump truck . Most of these toys say 3 years - but we watch him closely.

Just make sure they are NOT recalled....I wouldn't buy toys right now...I would suggest learning things...maybe a leap pad. My son is 3 and he already knows all his states. I was amazed at how well leap frog really helps! Good luck and Happy birthday to him!
