These movies are watched by millions of people all around the world and they seem to potray a very bad example to the younger generation. In the Muslim world, hardline clerics sometimes publicly burn and crush these dvd's and cd's. I don't expect something similar from the Christian world. So how do you guys deal with it. Coz, when Jesus said stuff like this

"You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

...how come they keep on making this kinda stuff. I don't think there are many countries I can call as "Christian Countries": because they are very secular.

AND what you guys do to battle the legalisation of prostitution the adult industry? which by the way is also affecting alot of people.

There are MANY American Christians who actively speak out against the evils of Hollywood. You are correct, we cannot react here like the "hardline clerics" of the Muslim nations, but we can (and do) push for social change. We also refuse to see such films, which pulls money from the pockets of Hollywood producers, directors, actors and the like. Once Hollywood saw it could really make money from Christian films, such as "The Passion of the Christ," it began making more of them. Hopefully, this trend will continue.

Because they are not "true Christians" saying women shouldn't teach is referring to men in 1st Timothy 2:12 anyway, Near the last days of earth the bible says there will be a great falling away from the truth, and that is what we see now, picking and choosing what they want out of the bible. I am Christian, I believe every word not some not a few, all.

In the new America every one is entitled to free speach except the christians. If they speak out it is considered "hate crimes" I cant say for most, but thoes of us who I know who are chirstians, we don't watch that filth. or listen to that filth. There are some very great movies that are produced that don't cross that line. I am a memeber of Netflix and they have whole sections for those who try to keep clean. Some of the best movies out there are the ones the WHOLE family can watch, we have a 5 year old, so it is important. some great ones are
Fighting the giants
The last Sin eater.
Loves long Journey

Try these I think the whole family will like them.

"whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery "

The key to a view on nudity is in the words. If one looks on a naked body as a wonderful creation of god then all is fine. Only if one views it in a lustful manner is there a conflict. So, the mere portrayal of a nude person or even being nude is not the problem; instead it is in the mind of the viewer. So, any good christian knows it is fine to gaze one th ecreations of god with awe and respect for his/her great work. But any who lusts after is not being a good christian.

As an aside to this, if people were not so uptight about nudity and it were more commonplace, the sexual/lustful manner in which naked peopole are viewed woudl diminish. Sort of a 'too much of a good thing' idea where after you eat the first 20 pounds of candy (or view the first 200 naked people) you tend to tire of it all and settle down to a normal life without being driven to overconsumption (or lust).

As well, why is it that so many people tend to deem nudity as an equivalent to sex. POeople can be naked without there being any implied sexual or lustful thoughts. We are naked or mostly naked in the shower, while dressing and undressing, often while sleeping, while tanning in the sun, etc. And we do these things in our own homes or yards as well as at the gym, in school, at the beach, etc. So why woudl anyone think that nudity is an invite to lusting after or having sex with the naked ones.

Mr POP,
Although many refer to the USA as a "Christian Country" it is a "free nation" which allows any and every expression with few restrictions. The Christians that I know have a variety of opinions but most do not attend those films at all. We try to stay with the "G Rated" films. My wife and I are very upset at many of the things that are going on but both of us believe that true Christians can and should be able to make their own decisions. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank YOU,
Eds

I think it is funny as heck, when I see a movie I'm guaranteed to see a boob or butt check of a woman, but dang where are the male parts at

as far as pron goes, let them make it, I do not have to buy it
But I do feel there should be a law that you must be 21 yrs of age in order to appear in one
boy, I bet that would tick off alot of men, they mostly like the young high school types

I don't know why Hollywood makes these movies but I have already ruled on them as a Christian and have stopped going to the movies all together. Where I work we have contests (I'm in Sales) and often times movie passes are the prize but now when I win movie passes I just refuse them.

The only thing people can do in this country is make petitions, we can't just go jackin stuff up. We would be in jail which is what some people would like but anyway.

I agree. In many ways, Muslims are more advance religiously then we are. Good for you. I wish Christians would pour into the street every time someone blasphemes Christ.

But, and a criticism for Muslims, where are you when people make fun of Christ. Isn't Isa your prophet?

do you find it that hard to see a naked person in a movie and not feel lust?

I think that sounds more like a problem with you, as a viewer.

it is possible to see a naked person, even in a sexually suggestive situation, and not feel lust.

its up to YOU to chose how you react and think and feel.

why are you so concerned about prostitution or similar things? are you so weak minded and weak-willed that you can't help yourself from taking advantage, if exposed to these things?
