Several ways you can get rid of ringworm. I get it sometimes from wrestling/grappling. You can use bleach to kill it immediately. Make sure you wash the area after wards. There's ointment you can buy (usually lamsil) to put on it. It dies within 48hrs of treatment, but you should still treat it for at least a bare min of a month with the ointment since it can lie within your bedspread, towels, etc. Don't take hot shower or go into the sauna as this will open your pores.
I'd also suggest bleaching/washing everything you've come in contact with (clothes, bedspread, towels, etc) after treatment to try to ensure you kill whatever may remain from when you previously lay in it. Ringworm festers and grows usually in damp, warm/moist conditions (hence why wrestlers are so prone to getting it among impetigo and other skin baddies)
You can also place [clear] nail polish over the area to dry it out/suffocate it.
All ringworm is athlete foot's/jock itch only in a different area. And yes you can give it to other people. If the antibiotic is for ringworm and isn't outdated, I think it'd be okay to take it.

ringworm is a fungus infection. It is not an actual worm. It can be spread by direct skin to skin contact.
The pill you have might be expired. So go see a doc and get a new prescription.
There are some over the counter treatments you might try as well. Go to your local pharmacy to speak to the ph armacists.

An anti-fungal creme should do the trick. Apply it regularly for a few days. Follow the instructions on the label. It should disappear in a couple weeks.
Antibiotics will not heal a ringworm.

Ringworm is a fungus not a bacteria so an antibiotic will not cure it. You can go to walmart or your neighborhood pharmacy and pick up a fungal cream/ointment and apply it. Yes it can be spread to others. It may not go away as fast as you would like it too.

An over-the-counter product called Lamisil works. After you put it on the affect area, make sure that you wash your hands. It is spread to others by direct contact so make sure that if anyone touches the affected area that they also wash their hands or area that touched you.
