God says not to kill people and yet he kills people with floods and fire.

God says to covet your neighbors stuff, yet he covets us humans from his fellow gods.

God says to honor you father and mother, easy for him to say he doesn't have either.

God says do not commit adultery and yet he got a virgin pregnant.

I'm sure there are others.

What's wrong with this picture?

Would you want to spend your life honoring a jealous God that tells you not to do something yet does it himself. Or follow a god or goddess that allows you to explore other paths.

That's like a parent telling their kid they shouldn't smoke but they do.

Why would anyone create rules to apply to other people and not themselves. I understand that God is "better" than us, but as with parents, teachers, and preachers they need to practice what they teach and preach.

no1home2day,

1) i don't have children, and if I did I would not sexually abuse them.

2) I was once a christian and I know more about God than you give me credit for.

3) If I were to create my own universe to look from the outside I would not be a jealous God.

The christian God has so many human aspects and yet anything he does that is considered human nature christians say that he's God he can do whatever he wants.

Seems like it. Here's a partial list of God's murder victims:

Do you close the living room curtains before you sexually abuse your children?

Come on - get real. Get your facts straight before you ask questions that make you look like some kind of idiot! (It's a good thing you aren't a news reporter - you would have the police locked up and criminals out on the streets the way YOU research your information!).

What's wrong with that picture? It's totally erroneus in so many ways I can't even begin to count them.

You don't know the first thing about God. You are presumptuous and arrogant, and you talk as though YOU sat in the seat of eternity, able to judge things you know nothing about. The Bible even says that in the last days there would be mockers who criticize things they know nothing about!

When you are able look at the universe from outside the realm of space and time, when you're able to see the end from the beginning of any action taken by men, when you are able to create a universe around your own nature and character, THEN you can judge! Right now, you're just a hypocrite at best! And like I said, arrogant!

"God says not to kill people and yet he kills people with floods and fire."

He's God, if He kills someone, He has a good reason. We don't, we kill for everything.

"God says do not commit adultery and yet he got a virgin pregnant."

Adultery means cheating on your soul mate before you meet them. God didn't actually do anything to her.

"God says not to covet your neighbors stuff, yet he covets us humans from his fellow gods."

No, he covets us from Satan, it's like a parent keeping their kids from a murderer.

"Would you want to spend your life honoring a jealous God that tells you not to do something yet does it himself. Or follow a god or goddess that allows you to explore other paths."

Go ahead, go down those paths, find out exactly where they lead like I did. We're nothing without God.

First of all there are no other Gods. Just false imaginations that some worship. He gave you a free will as seen in your question that makes fun of your creator and the only one who truly loves you. Enough to die for you. But with free will also come consequences for actions. Your sin will hurt yourself or others and then you live with not only the hurt but the knowledge that you did it. God gave us rules to follow so we could have a happy life. If everyone followed them noone would be a victim of murder, theft, cheating, lying and such like. But it seems you want no rules and a world where you can do what you want not caring for others just caring for yourself. You say God is limiting but you limit your life by following the path of destruction. God will love you even if you dont love him. His offer of salvation os free, no-strings just accept him as he already accepted you.

The entire POINT of the Story of Job is that Joe Hovah can do whatever he wants for no other reason than he IS God, and humanity just has to suck it up....

You need to remember that God's laws do not apply to Him.
