It never used to be this way and mostly i'm talking about down there. I dont see it as a bad thing at all or unsightly.

There has been lately a cultural tendancy towards infantilizing fashion and beauty, so hirsuteness has gone out of fashion. Throughout much of history the mature, sexualized woman was often considered more sexually appealing than the young virgin, mostly because men weren't aloud to have sex with young virgins. Now boys and girls seem to be the thing. I hear you, I think hairless men are gross and look like 14-year-old boys. Up until the 20s, women didn't even shave their legs or armpits, which is kind of difficult to do with a straight razor. Bring on Magnum

It's an evolutionary trait to not like body hair, in my opinion.

Body hair was necessary before the development of clothing. It regulates your skin temperature, and keeps foliage from your skin as you stalk your prey through the wild lands. Thicker pelts might even reduce sun damage.

Now that we have developed clothing, hair is far less necessary. Hair has bad sides to it also - it's a haven for tiny insects like lice, it can be downright uncomfortable and unattractive, also.

Personally, the only hair I leave on my body is on my legs, and my eyebrows. All other hair is gone, and I must tell you, it's far more comfortable this way!

Our culture sometimes takes grooming too far. We have to maintain a certain level of neatness and cleanliness, but If a man shaves all his body hair, I think he is either a metrosexual or controlled too much by a desire to fit in. Think about how much time we spend grooming. I don't know about you, but over the course of my lifetime I don't want to look back to see that I've spent an entire year grooming.

look, someone above said that he thinks only guys who are metrosexual or trying to fit in shave. That is such a stereotype to label everyone that shaves like that. Very pathetic. FYI most NFL, NBA, many MLB, most cyclists, bodybuilders tons of guys from teens to 30's do it not as a metrosexual or to fit in. I started doing it about 8 years ago while playing college baseball and will never stop. It's not to fit in certainly it's because it feels good, it feels clean, i love how it looks, it feels youthful and i couldn't imagine not shaving my arms, chests, and hands and trimming my leg hair. It feels and looks much more athletic to me and others also.

I qualify as a fur bearing mammal. I am covered from head to toe. Well, it's actually retreating from my head. I'm just wondering when it will become a hate crime for someone to make a derogatory remark about someone with excessive body hair?

Back in the day guys with body hair where sexy. Magnum PI for example.

I go to the gym and see guys who shave their legs and chests. They look stupid! Seriously is the stubble chest look what girls want.

I can't answer you question because I don't get it either.
