Yes they do. This is particularly important in luxury brands. Car salesmen often view their job as managing a relationship rather than selling a car. And it works. Every time I brought my Lexus in for service, my sales rep was eager to buy me a cup of coffee. When I was ready for the next car, he was the first place I turned. I also gives me an advocate when something does go wrong. I don't bother calling customer service lines, I go right to my representative. I think it's great and more companies should think about relationship sales rather than car sale.

Sure. And I am sick of them! I bought a car, and - as far as they are concerned - am dead until I'm ready to buy the next one but the morons think I am flattered when they send me birthday cards. I don't want ANYBODY to know that I even have birthday!

I have some do it and other not. I'd rather not have them call as I'm not going to buy another one for many years si why keep calling me. I can see why they do it, because they want you to come back to them or hoping you;ll tell someone else about him
