Of course. Without darkness nothing would define the light. If you mean evil, the same applies. Once you bite the apple you can't go back. If you're wondering if you can fight off the darkness in your own soul, yes and no. You can defeat it but if you destroy it, it will still be there you'll just think it's gone and carry out acts you believe to be righteous, ie the zealots who curse christ and fundamentalists who forcibly spread their beliefs to "save" others. Beat that darkness senseless and chain it up where you can keep an eye on it.

Since this is asked in R & S I think you are asking about spiritual light and darkness. In the Dead Sea Scrolls is mentioned the 'Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness'. This would be good and evil. In the Bible we are told to 'Let your light shine,' and 'do not hide your light under a bushel basket.' Shadows represent the darkness as in the Psalms, 'Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for You are with me.' God separated the light from the darkness in the Book of Genesis and unless He made everything in the universe different from earth there should be light and darkness throughout the universe which is a scientific fact. Darkness and light both permeate the universe and any life that may be within it in my estimation.

Jesus Christ is the Light of the world, if you believe in him you will see no darkness, once you get saved you will see life from a whole new perspective, nothing will be dark any more, you will not be seeking anymore, you will have a peace about you, and a smile most of the time, life is hard sometimes even for a Christian but we always have that peace and we can pray directly to the creator and we know he heres our prayers because the Bible tells us so. If you get saved, the darkness will turned to light, get saved today, you can right now if you believe in Jesus, he came and died on a cross for you, a perfect man, a sacrificial lamb, and on the third day arose from the grave washing away our sins, our sins is what seperates us from Jesus, In Hebrews chapter 8 it talks about without the sheding of blood their is no remission of sins, so Jesus's death on the cross and the perfect blood he shed cleanses us from all sin, the Bible says in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death. But when we accept Christ as our Lord all sins are gone, if you would like to be saved just say this simple prayer believing and a new life in the light can be yours, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

The real story behind Dark matter should best be explored in astronomy. But it is a very interesting theory and I commend you on your desire to stretch your knowldge past the limited gravity of the earth.

Nope. The universe is full of God's glory. This planet is the only place where spiritual darkness abounds.

Photons have their limits. There is more space that do not have photons than space that does, so the answer is yes.
