"they say you never stop learning new word, not even in your native language"......I guess they were right....I can't understand this expression "murder rap", what does "murder rap" means? I know what murder is but why putting the rap at the end?
This is what I am reading..."...I don't think anyone would want to face a DUII charge with that kind of legal representation, let along a murder RAP..."

THANK YOU :P

as usual you are yet another victim of Hollywood or moviespeak and this is why you cannot find this meaning of the word 'rap' in a standard dictionary. I notice on the chatrooms that u.s. contributors have a highly colourful and metaphorical use of language and I am fascinated whether people on the street are copying the tv or vice versa; I suppose the metaphor here is that as it were you are being 'rapped' across the knuckles with a murder charge.
the other standard meaning of rap is as in rap music.
