I find that a lot of bacon is like that these days. I'm really picky about what brand I buy, because I think bacon should taste like, well, bacon.

My son is known around the house as "bacon boy" he can smell it cooking a mile away, it's his favorite.. but, if you don't buy a really good brand like Oscar Meyer, you may get bland Bacon... sorry, been there done that, won't waste my money any more...

all the bacon i make is great tasting
the only time i have found it to taste poor is when it's super paper thin cut - like wawa breakfast sandwiches- i tried a bacon egg and cheese once that had no taste
