No, the bible teaches there is no solution for today's world, and so God has prepared another world which will be the way it ought to be. By faith in Jesus Chrst we can all go there.

Well I am not a Christian Per Se
However here in America
we recycle as a community
our City provides us with special garbage cans and Recycling containers

However many of us donate our Clothing and shoes, and furniture to Goodwill, Savation Army, or something similar and they charge a small fee

This is a very good way to recycle

and finally I am involved with an internet group called
www.freecycle.org
where we donate our things to people in our community for free

Craigslist is another type of internet group many people use

As far as trees, when I Bought my home I planted 4 trees

and everytime I gave birth to a child ( I have 3 sons)
We plant a tree,

In america many people plant trees in commemoration of a Birth or a Death or and important event they would like to remember

in addition as a Bahai we have special prayers
for our world
here is the website

http://www.bahaiprayers.org/

they are in many languages

Hope this helps

Meg

No. Prayer will help, but it's more helpful if people would adopt an attitude of not supporting or accepting things they know are wrong. I still can hear my Grandma say to us kids when we were too noisy or behaving badly--"I've had enough of this and it ends RIGHT NOW!!!!"
I have planted many trees in my life, and I've done it everywhere I've lived: apple, pine, orange, magnolia and pear, to name a few.
I try to live an eco-friendly life, from cutting the rings that hold soda cans together so scavenging animals won't get caught on them, to recycling newspapers, cans, and having a compost heap-and incidently, the best roses on the block! There's always more I could do

Prayer is a great place to start isn't it? I think there are hundreds of thousands of Christians that have planted a tree, not just thought about it! Theres probably millions of Christians that recycle there garbage and not just thought about it! Finally science is a great thing, but it to is based on theories.

I am a Christian. I pray. I read the bible. I go to church every Sunday and even some Wednesdays. OH! I also recycle and have planted trees. In my house we try not to use disposable plates or cups to help the environment. Yes, you can be a Christian, a conservative one and care about the world we live in. Actually it is biblical to care about those things.

Ela,
A good Christian is Eco-Friendly. He/she is also a good listener and is willing to share each and every day his/her problems with our creator. I believe that I am very eco-friendly and I am a science minor from college. I also taught for almost 30 years in the public school system (until I became disabled). My children and I have planted trees and fought to keep the world as it once was. I hope that YOU do too! Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks,
Eds

PS... I am NOT a proponent of prayers in school or Bible Study in schools. I would prefer that such be the responsibility of the parent.

No!!! All prayers and no act, makes God angry at us I mean do you expect him to do ALL the work in OUR world, think about it, the Pagans back then have two days off(Saturday and Sunday), while Jews and Christians only have one day off(Sunday), so I guess our God does not like us to be lazy, good things are worth doing you know, so get a hold of a shovel and plant a tree

Although I am not Christian or even religious for that matter. According to most Christians again MOST. They DO assume that prayers solve all problems. Just look at how they are trying to get prayers back into public schools and claiming that the reason for public schools being the way they are is due to lack of prayers. This is truly silly because there is no single cause for why the public schools are the way they are; there are many factors involved. Yet MOST Christians will refuse to see and understand that.

Yes prayer and knowing that when God created Adam and Eve He gave them the garden to tend. As with them we are to tend the garden that is our home, (earth) And to tend it we plant trees and recycle so that we will still have a beautiful place to call home while we are here on this earth. He calls us to be good stewards of what He gave us that also means taking care of things and that would be our planet earth.

You know Paul wrote about you 2000 years ago, when he said, " the worship the creation, but not the creator." Your concerns were mentioned long ago. But you have not seen nothing yet, the world will get MUCH hotter, you have not seen nothing yet, The season will become where you do not know them apart. There will be weather issues of a nature we have never seen. Please get the big picture.
