How could God die?

Gog is an Everlasting and spiritual being hence He cannot die!

It proves nothing but a great confusion of the early church leaders who tried to make him God and traped into Trinity!

Jesus never claimed to be a God in flash. This concept of incarnation - an Indo-Greek philosiphy, was adopted to award divinity to jesus but the same is yet a disputed matter in christian world.

Why don't you accept "The sign of Jonah" ?

And believe that Jesus did not die on cross!

What I want to say is that according to the prophecy of Sign of Jonah he should not die otherwise the prophecy remains unfulfilled! Jonah was ALIVE, ALIVE ALIVE each time!

Christians stress on TIME (3 days and 3 nights) but cannot prove the timing!

Muslims believe that Jesus did not die because he was raised to heavens. It is Christianity which still believe him dead - "Jesus died for your sins"?

If he did not die then who will save you?

God as an everlasting omnipotent spiritual person - this is a special Christian notion. All other religion has a god who is either impersonal (so then a kind of object) or not omnipotent (so then a kind of deified goblin or fairy or animal or human hero of a fairy tale).

Also Jewish picture of God might be personal, but I do not know this exactly - ask the rabbi... :-) I think so reading the Old Testament.

Jesus stressed his unity with God, his Father so much that it meant they are the same in their essence, so that Jesus is divine. This is partly why he was sentenced to death by Jewish religious leaders: he was blasphemous - they said -because he made himself equal with God. Although Torah nowhere said that the Messiah cannot be God incarnated as a human person.

Do not forget that the story is not only about death, but also about resurrection and a new life forever. Death and resurrection, and sharing human fate and experience, they are parts of God's everlasting personal being. Holy Trinity means that God is not simply a notion for the philosophers, but a being dynamic and personal, beyond our complete understanding. But if you take part in a really loving community, then you will still understand, I think.

For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the Belly of the sea monster, so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.


This verse is pretty funny. The people who made up Jesus really screwed up with this one. If Jesus was crucified on a Friday and resurrected on Sunday, then he did NOT spend 3 days and 3 nights in the earth. Basically, this verse turns the Jesus character into a false prophet.

Of course, it seems like almost every reference in the gospels to Old Testament stories and scriptures is screwed up somehow or other. I'm beginning to think that they maybe did it on purpose. Perhaps it was meant to be a clue that the Jesus story was not really connected with the Jewish scriptures.



At any rate, by "died again" I would guess you mean that he supposedly went to Heaven after his resurrection?

There is a good reason that Jesus went to Heaven so soon after his supposed resurrection. The reason for it is that the story of Jesus is actually a re-telling of pagan myths about dying-resurrecting pagan gods. One of the oldest pagan gods of this type is Osiris.

Osiris died, was resurrected, and then, even though he had been brought back to life, he went on to the realm of the dead to be its ruler. As you can see, this general story line is the same as the story of the resurrection Jesus.

Jesus went to the land of the dead because Osiris went to the land of the dead.

Followers of Jesus believe that they can have eternal life because Jesus died and was resurrected. The Egyptian worshipers of Osiris believed they could have eternal life because Osiris died and was resurrected.

Both Jesus and Osiris went to the realm of the dead after their resurrection to rule the land of the dead and prepare a place for their followers.

Frankly, I think it would be pretty hard for Christians to become more confused over the truth behind their religion than they already are.

Neither Jesus or Osiris literally died and/or resurrected. They were meant to be taken as myths. The stories were parables that were meant to teach a lesson. Unfortunately, the Christians decided to take their version of the story literally and completely eliminated the real meaning behind the story from their religion. So, basically, their religion is now an empty meaningless husk, because they have gutted it of all the real meat and thrown that meat away.

Also, as you claim, the incarnation of God as Jesus is a borrowed idea meant to solve a problem with introducing the dying-resurrecting god myth into the monotheistic Jewish religion. Since there was only one god in that religion and he supposedly couldn't die, they needed to create a new character associated with the Jewish religion that could play the part of the dying-resurrecting god.

The concept they chose to use to close the gap was the Jewish idea of a "messiah". Of course, the Jews never believed that their messiah was meant to be an incarnation of their god, so even with this strategy, the creators of the Jesus story had to fudge things a bit.

In fact, it appears that they had to screw with the Jewish ideas of god a bit too much for it to be accepted by most Jews. Ultimately, the parable about Jesus ended up becoming much more popular with gentiles. This was largely due to the fact that the gentiles didn't know anything about Jewish beliefs, so they just accepted all of the weirdness in the story without even noticing the discrepancies.

First of all Jesus died and than was raised from the dead and DID not die again. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are 3 seperate beings but are one. It is hard to understand but it's true. No need to go further on because you don't believe the bible so.........

Jesus died on the cross and was ressurected from his grave. He then visited his apostoles, did what he had to and left for heaven. HE DID NOT DIE AGAIN. Please get your facts straight. Jesus died on the cross, ressurected, and went to heaven to meet his father. Also Jesus was born of a human mother and a divine father, therefore having to be part human he has a mortal side, meaning he can die.

He did NOT die the second time after defeatimng death. He spent a little over 30 days here on earth and then assended into Heaven.
