I used to have regular arguments with my Scouse friend about this and we never did come to the same conclusion, Buns ...are usually sweet
Cobs ....are crunchy round breads that you would have cheese and onion (etc.) in.
Baps .....are soft cobs that you would have a burger in (or the same things you would put in a cob if you have dodgey teeth and cant bite a cob !!!LOL)
Rolls...are what you would have a hot dog inside, long and soft.
Barm cakes are either one...or all of these ...as I could never get to the end of the argument. sorry thats all I can tell you.
Any how isnt it Balm cake? No? ok then.....
