I don't want to do it for any reason that's based on sexuality or a sense of uniqueness, I just like the way it looks. Just a lower-lip piercing intrigues me. However, I go to church and I'm in the worship band (keyboardist) and help teach classes and such. I want one but I'm unsure of what my fellow christians would say. What would God say? I don't want to be kicked out of church or something. haha. sarcasm on the last line. hehe.

Body piercing & Tattoo's

We read in God's Holy Law Book the Bible in Galatians 1:24-25:
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

In Romans 8:5 & 8 we read:
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. ... So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am JAHWEH.

... and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. (Romans 13:14)

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. (1 Peter 1:14-16)

I have tattoos and piercings, and I am a Christian. Here are some sites below. You must think of the example you are setting though. Mine can be removed or covered up so as not to influence anyone else. I like them for me, knowing that they arent for everyone I dont flaunt them. ~Have Peace!

It depends on what branch you're from. Some are all about body purity and you're not supposed to defile it with extra holes.

If it's more liberal there'll be no problem because you're expressing who you are.

If you could tell us if it's a more "by-the-books" church, or a little more free-spirited, it might help.

A true christian should use the Bible as a guide to their actions.
lip piercing compares with tattooing. It is damage to your body.
this is what the Bible...God's word to you...says
(Leviticus 19:28) “‘And YOU must not make cuts in YOUR flesh for a deceased soul, and YOU must not put tattoo marking upon yourselves. I am Jehovah.
