I've heard of ones you can get that last arould 6-12 months and you can either get it topped up or let it 'fade'?

Not at the moment, but it is in the works. They have found a way to encapsulize the ink so that after a certain amount of time the ink 'bursts' and disappears. I'd say another two to three years before it becomes widely available.

They are Henna. You can design or get a traditional design. They are cheaper by far. The most I've heard of the costing is around $20 or so. But definately not more than $50. Plus if you don't like the design after it's done at least you aren't stuck for life. Only another month or so. Call local tattoo shops and ask about Henna options or look in your yellow pages for Henna Tattoos.

i've spoken to a tattoo artist, it's a massive con apparently - the only way to get a tattoo to fade out that quickly would be to put the ink nearer the skin surface - which would go weird and uneven if it stayed at all. there's currently no 'temporary' tattoo (apart from henna) - as of now, tattoos are still for life

Actually there is a way. Actors have used vegetable dye that lasts 6-8 months to achieve tattoos that they need for roles. There is debate on the topic, but i would read up on it before trying. try these sources.

The only tattos that I can think of that fade like that are cosmetic tattoos....that being the lipcolor and eye shadow/liner or blush.

Other than that, there's no such thing....tattoos are forever.

I 've heard there is a special ink that would dissappear after a few month/a yaer depending on the organism.

This link will provide you with all you need to know about tattoos, maybe contact a local tattoo artist and ask them about temporary tats, as you mention here. Henna tattoo may be something to look into.

Good luck =)

I prefer the temporary one. Because, you can change it whenever you get bored with it. Unlike the permanent one.
