I perfectly understand, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with them. but if it is about understanding why they don't, as I've said, I perfectly understand and their reasons and concerns are legitimate.

I understand that they made a choice not to believe, as is there God given right. Do I think that they have legitimate reasons, well I think they need to do a little more research to actually understand what they are rejecting and do real research instead of just reading propaganda made by the side you want to believe.

Yeah. But they seem to take the easy way out. MANY Atheist have not read the Bible and have gone to church little, if at all. Some have read it & gone to church but I think they are in the vast minority. To be an Atheist seems to mean you have to do nothing to qualify. No homage to God, no prayer, no church, no offering, no Bible...it's easy, and it appears to be lazy too. I understand their feeling about not enough proof and about some of the stories in the OT seeming to be brazin but the whole story (all the Bible) needs to be read to understand things. Consider this: If a person doesn't like baseball, doesn't understand it, and doesn't follow it at all, how qualified can their comments about baseball be? They would know little of what they were talking about, and have admitted they don't like or follow it anyway. Atheist seems to be about the same way when it comes to religion. If an Atheist is right about there being no God and no such thing as Heaven. would make me, as a Christian, wrong. If the Atheist is right would mean when either of us dies, nothing happens. We are dead and that's it. Never to be heard from again, no eternal life, no reserection, etc. BUT, If I'm right , upon death I would stand before God, be forgiven and go to Heaven. The Atheist would stand before God, and by not accepting God, would not be forgiven, thus, not enter Heaven, but would enter "that other place." That is a poor example of why a person should have faith--but that doesn't mean it's not true.

I can understand that many people have been hurt or have seen the ones they love hurt in many ways. Like most of us, they feel helpless to do anything about it. They can't understand how a loving God could stand idly by while those he claims to care for suffer and die through no fault of their own.

I have suffered some pretty ugly things, as I am sure many of you reading this have suffered......most of them as a child. I have asked the same questions.

I am also a Catholic who has managed to keep my faith and strengthen it. I just find too many reasons to believe than not to. Even in the face of pain and shame, it was God who reached from the cross to take my hand. If you don't believe, I understand, but please don't stop asking and seeking.

Christians really don't care why atheists don't believe. They are content inside of a giant role playing game, and they really don't like to be bothered with stuff like logical arguments coming from the outside world. The rest of the world is like Mordor to Christians.

It's all the workings of Voldemort and the Dark Lord Sauron.

I starred your question when you first posted it because I wanted to see the replies before answering myself.
As you can see,a vast majority of christians do NOT understand why we don't believe in fact most of your respondents have absolutely no idea.
I must say they have come up with some very funny reasons though.

Atheists want to "do their own thing" without having to obey anyone.
They are not humble enough.
But they are still concerned about where they originated.
Because they will not accept that they were created, they looked for another PLAUSIBLE reason for their existence...and came up with
EVOLUTION.
To be able to change from one type to another.
Something the Bible clearly denies.
(Genesis 1:21) And God proceeded to create the great sea monsters and every living soul that moves about, which the waters swarmed forth according to their kinds, and every winged flying creature according to its kind. And God got to see that [it was] good.

ACCORDING TO THEIR KIND...

Actually I find atheists do believe, in science,
which is often as faulty as x-ian law vs law is.
As such they do as well as devils: James 2: 8,19,
who believe there is one God, their God, the Law.

But in an earthquake atheists don't stand and say
Science rebuke thee; They run like hell for cover.

Funny thing is, as atheism becomes popular in usa,
so also is mental illness above the norm, over 50%.

Albert Einstein, on science and religion:
"Science without religion is lame.
Religion without science is blind."

Scientists often change their findings for more grant $.
Albert Einstein about this aspect of science:
"Science is a wonderful thing if
one does not have to earn one's living at it."

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Yes, I do understand why they don't believe.

No, I do not think they have legitimate reasons and concerns but I realize that they think they do.

The revelation about God is just that...revelation. You must be open to it to receive it. Non-believers are closed to it and trying to make sense of God with their finite and fallible intellect. They cannot...therefore they do not believe.

Yes. Sometimes I feel that Catholisism is the first step to becoming an atheist. Most atheists I know (not just on here) are former catholics who just got fed up.
