have you ever seen any other dead people walk? not to mention ones that are, oh, a good 2000 years old, you know, the ones that are bones and dust if they're lucky.

Hi Bazzy,
Jesus' return will occur when all the prophecies have been fulfilled and the probation of the human race closes.
The Biblical evidence is that that time is almost up although as Jesus predicted that just as it was in the days of Lot and the days of Noah life would be going on as if it would last forever. One thing we can be certain of is that that time will not come until the Gospel has been preached in all the world. Everyone will have had a chance to accept or reject it.
The Gospel of course is the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. We will have no way of knowing when that will be but the indications are that there will be a pouring out of the Holy Spirit called the latter rain that will complete this work.
Then the end will come.
Read Jesus' sermon in Matthew 24.
Revelation 13 refers to a religious power that persecutes God's people just before the return of the victorious Saviour.
Seeing that none of us know for sure when our time will be up the wisest thing to do is to get right with God NOW!
I hope that this has been of some help to you.
God Bless,
H'chat.

Who has told you he hasn't returned? Jesus is always with us, whether or not he walks on the earth. There are many rumors circulating on the Internet and in public forums that the question you pose should be slightly altered to say "Why has Jesus returned?". They say, He has come quickly, and has kept his promise.
I suppose there could be a lot of answers for that question. For example, VH1, MTV, George W Bush, Osama bin laden, the Media, the death of morality, the daily crucifixion of Christ in all of Arabia, Cheney, fundamentalists, Armageddon, the Beast, number nonspecific, the destruction of Babylon the Great, the restoration of the Kingdom, the New City, the sealing of hell, the birth of morality, etc.
In any event, I don't mean to ramble on, it's just that these rumors are sill floating around, like the clouds. People would question my premise that he is already here because of the clouds. But beyond these rapture clouds is the clear blue sky. As far as these clouds go, who knows what is really in shades of Grey?

Read Matthew 24. This should answer your question. You realize that even He doesn't know when the end of time is. It will happen when God tells Him, "It is time, Go gather My children home." Not even the angels in heaven knows when the end of time will be. I do know that everything in the Bible hasn't been fulfilled yet, but we are getting close. He is going to come like a thief in the night, so watch and pray.

A thousand years to us is like a day to the Lord. With the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ, we enjoy the first fruits of the return of Jesus right here and right now!

It's in my opinion that if there is a God, he left this world. I wouldn't count on him returning. At least not any time soon.
Think of it like the Sims. You play for a while, the phone rings and you just sort of let it run and forget about it. After a while the whole house sort of starts to fall apart.

God is not limited by time and space. A thousand years in our sight may be like a moment in His. God/Jesus IS going to return. He is going to return when not necessarily expected and it will be on His own timing scale-not ours.

Read the Bible. You'll find the answer.
You don't even have to read the entire book. Do a tiny bit of research about basic Christianity.

Of two comings: Law before, Grace after, for before/after comparison, "that Jesus Christ is come" (already) with grace and truth for comparison to the law and lie.
The law (and surely die lie) was given by Moses,
but grace and truth "came" by Jesus Christ: John 1:17
For them who would have "Jesus" return, they should read Luke 17 to note it would be accompanied by Noahic and Sodomic destruction upon them: 1Thess 5:3; not on us: 1Thess 5:9. So if I were one of them vs them, I'd be converting to one of us, and asap, as it's the last day, and there is notably "no escape" for "them".
Their cloudy rapture theories don't hold water after 2003, and people are finding seven years of GWB tribulation is enough tribulation. Not to mention the Lord is longsuffering to us-ward, not to either of them vs them is as loser vs loser due to their law vs law.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
