You are correct. It was the Catholics who were the writers of the NT. The NT, especially the book of Acts is about Catholics. And finally, it was the Catholics who were given the authority from Christ to decide which books were to be Canon. through the years it has been the Catholic Church that has protected the teaching of Scriptures from heresy and attacks on the faith. Certainly, it is Christ's Church which is the only true Bible Church where no doctrine, practice or belief is in contradiction of the Bible. The Catholic Church remains the "bulwark and ground of the truth" as the Bible clearly states.

The Catholic Church did not disregard the Bible, actually they use it very much since it has brought to them power and money. We did not lived those days when the Catholic Church had the command to even put and take Kings out of the throne, to command military, education and economics.

What was disregarded by them was the truth. And that is the reason why : On this day, February 11, 1929 The Vatican got its independence as a Sovereign State. Because as a Sovereign State they can hold State Secrets.

Secrets that would change the way you view not only the Church but also the whole world as it is today. They hide many truths about Jesus, and events of that time.

Many peoples have call the popes Holy Father, and they do not correct them as being bad to say that, if you are not blind, what can you expect of people like that.

But there is a lot of good loving people in the Catholic Church.
Maybe someday things will come to light, I am pretty sure if it would be for the Catholic Church, evidences needed would come forth. But they have other plans I guess.

Edit:
You might thumb me down, but you can not prove me wrong.

Mary's Oblate what part of history have you missed.

The King James Bible is a government document... the canon is a catholic document, fundies don't even realize that without a catholic church to spin off of, they wouldn't have a religion....

The Roman church did not disregard the Bible. They have included in it more writings than are in the Protestant Bible. It has also added traditions which have very little support in the Protestant Scriptures.

Disregard the Bible? If that were true, then how on Earth would the clergy have taught the Scriptures to the laity for all these centuries, if they disregarded the Bible?

That's a great question. For some reason the Chruch is "told by God" through a revelation that certain parts of the Bible can be ignored. Though it's few and far between.
