No, I've never killed an animal to eat it.

Yes, I do eat meat.

No, I couldn't kill an animal to eat it, unless maybe I were on the verge of starvation.

I'd certainly eat less meat if I had to kill it myself.

I have never had to pull the trigger or do the initial kill, but I have skinned a lamb, cleaned the head of a cow and pig, plucked chickens and turkeys...the list goes on as to my further actions past the initial killing. Of course I eat meat, my job depends on people eating meat! Sure, I would have no problem raising and butchering my own animals, if I had the land to do so. In high school, I raised turkeys, and had no problem with slaughtering them for food. I would probably eat more meat, as I would be able to have all the great cuts like tenderloin and sirloin which I cannot afford at this point, especially if it is a higher quality (Choice or Prime).

It has been said there would be a lot more vegetarians if everybody had to personally kill all the animals they eat. Maybe except for fish. Most people would have no problem killing live fish and eating them. I wouldn't.

And I remember a story about someone who owned some chickens. He went away on vacation and had a friend take care of the chickens. When he returned, the friend offered that if the owner every decided to eat that big rooster, he would volunteer to kill it for him. I guess some animals are just so annoying that you WANT to kill them. Some people are too for that matter, but I draw the line at cannibalism, no matter how annoying the person might be!

Well, the killing part would depend upon the circumstance. I grew up in a farming/ranching family and slaughtering an animal to fill the freezer and keep the family fed was just part of life. Hunting was also something we learned to do, and it also helped to keep the family fed. So I've done it before. If my family were starving and that was the only option, I could do it again.

Being Buddhist has certainly changed things, however. I don't even fish anymore because of the suffering it causes the fish. I took my son trout fishing last summer and he caught the biggest fish of the weekend. I had to teach him how to clean the fish and I'll tell you, I just about got sick.

Mostly I get by on vegetarian protein these days, but for health reasons I cannot be a 100% vegetarian. I did that for three years and my body/metabolism just isn't compatible. So I still need to eat meat three or four times a week. I eat only organic, natural meat from animals that have been humanely raised and not been made to suffer. And I give thanks, profuse thanks, to the animal that has given its life to sustain mine.

Question 1 - yes, I have done it.
Question 2 - yes, also geese, doves, pheasent, qual, deer and rabbit.
Questoin 3 - Well it should be obvious by now the answer is yes
Question 4 - Of course
Question 5 - Sure, it's no different than hunting
Question 6 - This question makes no sense. I eat as much meat as I want now so why should I change.

Yes, I could kill a duck, chicken, sheep, and cow if I had to. Just give me something....I am not a violent person...but I love my meat, and we have canine teeth for a reason.

Would I eat more? Um....it depends, do I have to pay for these animals that I kill? If not...yeah probably would eat more....

No, I don't eat meat and I could NEVER kill an animal. I have a friend and her brother is a butcher. She became a vegetarian after her brother told her about how they kill the animals.

Actually, I have done that before, Chickens and a goose, and yes, I suppose we would eat a little less meat if we had to kill it ourselves. I don't like the feeling of killing something.

I am a vegetarian so i would not kill these & even if i was non-veg, i would never kill any animal to eat.

No i have not killed any of these & i never will.

No i do not eat meat.

No i would never rear any animal kop eat it.

I will never eat meat.

Meat is unworthy to eat & to take a life of a living form whether small or big is a sin for me.

No, I couldn't do it.
I'm a vegetarian, and although I know humans are designed to eat meat I just don't find it necessary.
As long as you are willing to do it the right way, being vegetarian has huge health benefits- i've never felt better.

Watch this and see if it makes you think twice about killing and eating animals.
