ok i have noticed that pepper the poodle i got after its owner passed hasn't been eating so i put about a tablespoon of the wet dog food the owner had in with the dry food and he ate some.. i have always been told wet dog food is not good for dogs what should i do? please help.. maybe someone that knows alot about poodles should give me your email addy so we can tak more..lol

wet dog food is fine, as long as its good quality, i would also consider changing her food as poodles are pron to allergies, my suggestion would be to change to innova EVO or barking at the moon and innova also carries a really good wet food, but remember that you have to change it over gradually, like 25% new 75% old for a few days. then 50/50 and then in another few days, 100% of the new food, its best to do it over the corse of 2 weeks so he has time to adjust.

Just make sure the wet food is good quality. I feed my dogs on a very high quality dry food with a tablespoon of BARF patty to moisten it. Some dogs just don't get excited about dry food. Also, in the case of one of my dogs, if I don't mix in the wet food she scoffs it so fast she chokes on it because it is too dry. Don't make him/her eat something they really don't like, so if a bit of wet food makes her life a little more pleasureable, go for it!

If he's used to wet dog food then you'll have to wean him off it slowly. Dogs don't like change in their food and are suspicious ;) So mix it up then gradually change the amount of wet food to dry food. About once a month I buy a tin of wet food and it lasts three meals and my dog loves to eat his dinner when there's something juicy in there. I think everything's ok in moderation (apart from chocolate, sweets, biscuits and other human crap).

wet food because it can cause tooth decay if it sticks adn not cleaned you have ot brusht he teeth or have vet do it every do often that si why
