he says he is apart of the 3rd battalion 8th marine regiment charlie company, but i can never find this specific battalion reg and co. Can you please help me? he claims he is deployed currently is he really. can someone please help me find out becuase i feel really badly questioning this but ireally need to know.

Your relationship is in trouble.
Regardless of whether he is or not, your doubts about him speak volumes.
I would take a hard look at my relationship with him if I were you.

how can you not know if your boyfriend is in the Marine Corps or not. Anyway If you have your information correct then he is lying because There is no charlie company in 3rd battalion 8th marines, 3rd battalion has India kilo and Lima company. 1st battalion 8Th marines has a charlie company but you said that he was in 3/8. If he is in charlie 1/8 than yes he has just deployed or soon will be

Oh boy. Ask him to send you pictures of him in uniform with his fellow Marines. The 3/8 is out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Here is their website:

Why would someone lie about this? Sheesh if he doesn't want to be around you then he should have just kicked you to the curb.

It's hard for me to believe he is your boyfriend and you wouldn't know if he is in the military or deployed.
This tells me several things. You have never seen him in uniform, seen dog-tags, military ID on him or his car, where he lives, how he acts, walks, talks, moves. You don't know any of his friends or family either to verify this.
If he was deployed he definately would have sent word of where he is and where to write as hearing from you would be most important to him during this time.
Sounds like you can't be his girlfriend as you know NOTHING about him.

He never gave you a address.......are you SURE you are B/F&G/F? No Marine I EVER knew didnt give their addy to someone to write them,pics and goody bags. Is there something wrong with you ? You a alien? Purple? Somethings not savvy here!

Does he have myspace or a place where you can see up to date pics? Why is he your boyfriend if you do not even know if he is really deployed? You have to know what specific questions to ask and research them to see if it makes sense. But you should go with your gut, this guy sounds fishy

How did you get such a mysterious boyfriend in the first place?
Ask him what his M.O.S. is.....if he can't answer with a career field (logisitics, infantry, dragon gunner, bugle player) in a few seconds, he is definitely not a Marine.

Really, if he has the uniform, he has the one of a kind valid armed forces I.D., has the pins, and most importantly speaks and acts with HONOR, COURAGE, COMMITMENT. Then he is a Marine!!!

Sorry, you either trust him or you don't.
If you don't trust him, and feel like you have to snoop around, then dump the guy. If he is lying, then he is trash.
If he isn't lying, he deserves better.
