Vegemite is a sandwich spread popular in Australia. It is like Marmite only not as sweet.

There is no reference to vegemite in the Bible, however.

Ah! 'Tis a dark and salty spread, made from the residue of brewing beer, and beloved by Australians. It's spread on buttered toast, or dry biscuits, or a teaspoon or two can be mixed into hot water for a drink. Its manufacture robs Australian mass-market beers of essential vitamins which work against the brain damage of alcohol. Like most iconic Ozzie products, it is now owned by some foreign corporation. We're a vanishing species, colonizers now constantly re-colonized, living always in a quarry quarried for foreign profit. That's global market economics for you. It would be funny if it were not so sad.

It's my fault for getting this Vegemite kick started. We Aussies love it; it's a spread for bread made from an extract of brewer's yeast. Most Americans don't care for it, although I've persuaded several people on here to try it.

Edit: Sneaky?! I'm an innocent boy...

See the linked question. It explains a little bit why you see Vegemite references here. We have two sneaky Aussies who've fooled everybody into believing Vegemite is the food of the Gods.

It must have been created by satan, no god could even conceive of it. If there were a hell there would be Vegemite at every meal.

It's a yeast extract. People hate it because the first time they eat it they chunk it on their bread thinking it will taste like chocolate, but if you ever eat it, have it on toast and only spread it very thin

Practicing being a Vegamite is like practicing being a Scatamite... just ask an Australian about the stuff.
