I've been sick since the week of the 13th in August. I've visited the doctor twice since then, and she's prescribed me with medicines for a sinus infection both times. She gave me amoxicillin the first time and something like azythromax a few days ago. I've been taking the medicine for 3 days so far out of the 5 I'm supposed to, and my sinus symptoms have completely went away, but the sore throat that was barely existant before is now UNBEARABLE. My glands are so swallen that you can see them in my throat through my skin. I feel like my face is pushing on my ears, and my ears have been ringing for the past few days and my ear canal feels like it's swelling shut. I've drugged myself up on everything possible, from Tylenol PM to Motrin to Brometane, and NOTHING has made me feel the least bit better. I've been doing the obvious things like eating popsicles all the time and drinking tea but they only provide SLIGHT relief and ONLY when I'm eating or drinking it.Should I go to the hospital?

My sore throat has just recently acted up, within the past 48 hours at most. I called my doctor and she said to give the medicine another day, and if my sore throat hasn't gone away at all, to call again today. It has gotten even worse and the ringing in the ears I think scares me the most. I can't sleep, I can't eat, it even hurts to BREATHE. On a scale of 1-10 it's most definitely at least a 9. I'm a teenager and I handle pain pretty well, but I've been waking up my mom CRYING asking what I can do to make myself feel better. She offered to take me to the ER, but I didn't know if it was neccessary to go.

I didn't take all the drugs at once. Last night I took tylenol and brometane together, then today I took 1 tylenol around 6, and another around 12 midnight, then 2 hours later I took a tylenol p.m. I'm pretty sure it's not too much, and I haven't been mixing them.

Try this: Put Vicks Vapor Rub on your throat...It's very soothing. Also, Mix Honey, with a half of a lemon and take a couple of teaspoons an hour. Also soak a washcloth in hot water, and apply it to the edge of your ears and throat. You should get some relief. You sound like you have step throat and an ear infection. Definetely go back to the doctors..you need something way strong than amoxicillan. Zithromax is the best for ear problems as well as everything else. Don't bother with the Emergency room, if yours is anything like ours, they will treat you as unimportant, and have you sit there for literally hours before they even take you in.
Good Luck and feel better soon.

Sounds like you might have strep throat. Going to the ER will only get you on antibiotics a few hours earlier and will cost you a whole lot more. If I were you, I'd tough it out until morning and see if you can get in to see your Dr. once more. But then again you've been on some pretty heavy duty antibiotics for a while, its hard to believe that you are just now coming down with strep. Maybe you have a resistant strain. I'd still wait until morning, the ER will only prescribe more antibiotics or possibly give you a shot of antibiotics and like I said they will charge you a whole lot more.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so awful. Try gargling with warm salty water which will help to kill any germs present if there's an infection, also soothes a little. Try looking in your throat in the mirror with a torch and see if there's any pusy nodules in there. My daughter had those and turned out to be severe tonsilitis. Anyway...along with the salt water gargle try drinking hot honey and lemon drinks to soothe your throat. They really help to ease the pain and the extra vitamins won't do any harm that's for sure. If after a few days this still doesn't help then, yes, definately go to the hospital or see your Dr again. All the best :)

I would advise you go to to ER. It sounds like you have a big infection and need some IV antibiotics. The swelling concerns me, your two nasal passages are becoming blocked which could lead to breathing difficulties. It is unadvisable to lie down as this will make the swelling worse so insead of sitting up all night in pain, Go to the ER.

I do not see a predicament with it.....the influences of the drug are not more that beer. For scientific functions, why now not, chiefly if it'll make any individual with a protracted ailment consider bigger. I do not suppose you will have to be in a position to visit the shop and purchase it like tobacco, however for remedy of agony and soreness of very sick folks, why now not.....I could instead see folks utilizing some thing from nature to treatment agony than a few drug designed in a lab.....

Yes, I believe you should go to the hospital. I mean if the pain is unbearable then yes, go to the hospital. No one here on yahoo answers can answer your question because we cant see you to diagnose you. So the best thing for you to do would be to go to the emergency room and get checked out.

Its better to have it checked out and be nothing then for it to be something and not checked out.

if it was me, i would probably lay in the bed and suffer and hope that someone would drag me to the er.. it could possibly be an allergic reaction to the medications.. i had that happen once with coriceden.. i could not swallow anything... its better to go and nothing more be wrong than to not go at all and die!! especially if you are haveing trouble breathing, your throat could swell shut!! hope you get to feeling better...

If you have any concerns just go. The ER generally sucks and the wait can be long, but if you know you feel wrong just go!
