when I was in the army that was the only hair I could have so I bought a hairdrier and did just that.

First off, get it cut to the length you want. After you wash your hair towel-dry it and comb it back. Use a very small - repeat very small - amount of gel to part your hair with your fingers and let the front to stand out a little. Keep practicing. But you have to start out with a nice haircut first.

Bring the pic to the salon, and buy a lot of mousse or possibly a spray gel.

you should print the picture out and show the pic. to a barber so he could cut it.
