Your use of absolutes makes it hard to answer the question. For example, I am a person and I do not think all Arabic speakers are Muslim - many are Christians too and other religions.
In regards to Arabic speaking Christians, that can be traced back right to Christ.
So not everyone thinks that and those who do simply do not know that there are Arabic speaking people who are not Muslim - and besides, it is not THAT far from reality - I would hazard to say that the majority of Arabic speakers are Muslim.
Peace be with you!

Well considering the percentage of those in the world who speak Arabic and who are Muslim its not a unfair assumption.
Though it is stereotyping. Its just that if this was Vegas it would be good bet that you were Muslim if you spoke Arabic.

I didn't know they do.
My husband and his family all speak Arabic fluently, I speak a little.
We are definitely not Muslim, as we're Jewish!
Then again, I'm shocked by the number of americans who have never heard of 'Arabic Jews" before they met us.

Because the majority of Arab countries are muslims. and could it be because the Quran is in arabic? I understand that there are non muslims in the arab world, but there are such a small minority.

Aren't there a lot of Arabic Catholics? Isn't there an Arabic Orthodox Church, similar to Russian and Greek Orthodox?

Well...I don't know about everyone thinking that....but there is a lot of ignorance and intolerance in this world.
Although, I wouldn't care if people thought I was Muslim or Jewish or Catholic or Christian or Scientologist or Athiest
Noone knows what I believe and they can label me however they please, I don't always choose to accept those labels

The same reason many people assume that if you are religious, and American, you MUST be some branch of Christian... Ignorance..
(And assuming 'everyone' thinks ANYTHING is ignorant as well, FYI)
