Hahaha, once when I weighed 155 I wrestled a 235 former 2 time Illinois State Champion. I was afraid, but knew I could pull it off. The match up was long and hard, only 2 of my friends thought I would win, EVERYONE else thought I'd lose. I won via submission. Afterwards, even though HE quit, he started telling people at a party HE won. Well, I know many of the same people he does and happened on that very party. It was funny because people were like Kareem beat you... what? I left and drove home, "why" you may ask? Was I afraid? Humiliated? Hurt? No, I went home to get the tape of the match, lol. When people lose some form of a fight that is close, they lie. How do I know you are not lying? Why do you need to ask us? As far as someone throwing more punches, it only take 1 good one. So you can win throwing less punches, watch boxing sometime. Well, I'd advise you to wrestle while you fight, never throw a punch unless you are locked in vs them. That way you can't miss, you save energy. Plus when you miss a huge punch, you are screwed because you are left SO open. Here's what you should do, grow up. I 27 and used to LOVE to fight. Age make you mature for most. Don't fight with people. BUT, if you feel like fighting is cool still (I did as a teen) call him on his sh(t. Start telling everyone that he sucker punched you and it took his friends to get you off or you'd've killed him. Tell everyone there is only one way he can prove you wrong and that is a rematch. Call his a$s out, or shut up. Get lots of people around too. Look at it this way, the way I did, if everyone expacts you to lose, and you do... so what? You lose nothing. But if you win you humiliate him and everyone knows it. I beat a State Champion 80lbs heavier. Think I was scared before that match, frick yeah. But you either sh(t on the pot or get off. Either ask strangers "who won", or prove it to everyone who doubts you. Punch him in the mouth so hard he'll deficate teeth for a week.

by using the many tactics avaliable to a shorter person, when fighting a taller person.

By nuetralising the tactics of a taller person that they use to beat a shorter person.

By just being a better fighter in general.

Being shorter, he could punch upward at face, chin and chest, which is enormously painful. A taller man has a longer reach and has to shorten his blows to protect himself. And a shorter man has a better sense of gravity and balance, not to mention speed.

I boxed for the YMCA from 1978-1980. More than half of my opponents were taller. I still won my sectional division title.

It can be done.
