If someone is persistantly feeding you... you never learn to feed yourself. Likewise, if you are given what you need, you don't learn to earn what you need. If you are told what you want to know, you will never learn to research and find what you want for yourself.
"Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish.... he's fed for life. And you can get rid of him on weekends."

Handing someone the answers does not teach them to think for themselves. They only learn to depend on the spoon that feeds them.
