You'll lose a bit of muscle tissue first then your body will adapt to your low calorie intake and drop straight into starvation mode to hold onto every fat calorie it can. At the same time it will slow your metabolism to a crawl and your weight loss will stop altogether. You need 1200 a day and 30 minutes of exercise everyday to shes 2 to 3 pounds a week..good luck

I've recently lost 65lbs since April 9 doing the following:
Do not eat over 2000 calories. Make your calories count. 2000 is a lot believe it or not. I kept my food intake as fat free as possible. And here is the kicker for true success...get a diet journal and write what you eat down. You'll be amazed of how easy it is.
Staple foods with this plan is a lot of chicken breast. Vegetables in the frozen section have a lot to offer that are very low calorie. Snack items...sugar free jello gelatin, sugar free jello pudding. Fresh fruit. 100 calorie snack packs make it easy to keep track.
I lost 21lbs my first month by doing the above and I did not exercise at all. Your weight loss does slow down after this initial period so incorporating some sort of physical activity is essential if you really want to kick it up a notch.
Hang in there and don't give up. Good luck

It depends on what those calories consist of, and what times of the day you consume those calories. It also depends on how often you use the gym and what exercises you do in the gym.
Let me recommend a 1500 calorie a day diet, along with the gym. 1000 is low. If you eat too little, then believe it not, you won't lose much weight, as the body tends to hold on to fat if it feels starved for too long. Let your 1500 calorie diet consist of mostly vegetables, fruits, and low fats. In the gym I recommend at least 1/2 hour cardio on exercise bikes or elliptical machines each time you go.

A woman is supposed to have a minimum daily intake of 1200 calories so yes you will lose weight, but not for the right reasons. I suggest start with a 1200 calorie a day diet and see how you go.
As to how much you would lose, that really depends on other factors including your height and age. Personally I haveput myself on 800calorie a day diets and lost weight but reached a point where my body would not lose more. Neither was it healthy.
My reccommendation? Stick to minimum of 1200 cals.

"No!" one thousand calories a day is certainly a poor
measurment for losing weight, when calories is the major problem! start out by cutting down half of that per day, and work your way down to, half of that! and see how well you will do, at striving for 250 calories a day! Eat more live fruits and vegetables, nuts, and seeds without salt, you'll get used to the taste, if you're serious! drink natrual juices, instead of
sweetened drinks! that with the exercises in one month you
will see a great difference! and clothing will begin to sag on you! and you'll feel good about yourself, to continue on.
Good Luck!

there are 3500 calories in a pound. meaning if you cut 500 calories a day, you will lose a pound a week. given a calorie intake of 2500 a day, you're proposing to subtract 1500 calories a day. this gives a weekly net of 3 pounds a week.
honestly, you can do some major damage to yourself by doing something like this unless you've consulted your doctor.

1000 calories is too low. You should never eat less than 1200 calories a day unless your doc tells you to eat less than 1200.

This is a hard question to answer because if your body receives too little food, it slows down your metabolism.
